Harry

I woke up to an empty bed, no, scratch that, an empty house. I stood in the kitchen waiting for a reply from Ellie. I knew she wasn't at work because she goes back tomorrow and I didn't know where else she would've gone.

Hey Ron, any idea where Ellie ran off to this morning?

I pressed send and almost immediately he responded.

The playground

The text message was followed by an address and I narrowed my eyes, petting Bear before I left the house.

The gps had me downtown and I pulled into an open space in front of a large building.

Ellie

I pulled my ponytail tighter before Delaney played the music.

My girl don't want me cause of my dirty laundry and I think that she knows, I'm out of control

As soon as Dee and I started dancing, my body took over. I danced competitively from grade two to grade twelve and when I graduated I met Delaney at a convention.

I glanced over at her and gave her a quick smile and nod, continuing to dance. We had only choreographed forty seconds of the song but it was enough to make me forget all the things I had on my mind.

"That's what I'm talkin about," she yelled and high fived me as I laughed and she paused the music.

My attention turned to the door and I was surprised to see a smiling Harry.

"Harry?" I called and he walked closer to me.

"Your dad told me you might be here," I rolled my eyes and looked to Delaney, who was drinking her water and looking at me.

"This is Delaney," I ignored his comment and he gave her a small wave.

"Dee, this is Harry." She smiled and I told her to give me a second.

I pulled Harry out of the large room by his arm and he raised an eyebrow at me.

"I didn't know you danced," he commented and I shrugged.

"I told you I liked to dance when we first met, what're you doing here?" Honestly, I was pretty annoyed. I was trying to get some alone time and it really wasn't working.

"Well you kind of left me in the dark this morning, but I'll go." He snarled and I pulled him in to kiss me.

"I'm sorry," I bit my lip and he looked away, still holding my hand. "I just wanted to get my mind off some things." He nodded and I sighed.

"I'll see you tomorrow after work, alright?" He rubbed my shoulders and I nodded.

"Okay," he pulled in for a kiss again and we stayed there a little longer. "I love you and I'm sorry for leaving without telling you." I whispered against his neck.

"It's okay, love." His lips met my cheek before he pulled away. "I love you too, I'll call you later." He winked at me and I laughed, hitting his shoulder before making my way back into the room.

"He's a cutie!" Dee shouted across the room and I nodded. "I mean I've seen pictures and you talk about him all the time but," she paused and I raised my eyebrows. "Wow," she finished and I threw my sweater at her, leaving me in a sports bra and black sweats.

"Okay, relax," I scolded her and she laughed. "Turn on the music," she obliged and came to meet me in the middle of the room.

"Actually!" She yelled and I looked over to her. She ran over to pause the music and she played a song I hadn't heard in years. "Dance to this, it's been a while." I stood there staring at her until the chorus neared and I took off my converse, leaving my socks on.

If you look into the distance, there's a house upon the hill, guiding like a lighthouse to a place where you'll be, safe to feel at grace 'cause we've all made mistakes, if you've lost your way, I will leave the light on

I had forgotten I could dance any other style than hip hop until I started to move. I could see Delaney smiling in success and holding up my phone, clearly video taping.

I finished my turning section before stopping and letting out a laugh, kind of. It was more of a way to get myself to not cry.

"I-I haven't danced to that, or even like that since Joe died," I wiped a fallen tear and Delaney smiled.

"I don't know why you won't come work here with me, you're truly an inspiration." I shook my head.

"Harry's going on tour, I'm moving into his house for a bit until I find my own and if I start working here in the evenings," my eyes lit up and I squealed. "I can so work here in the evening!" I yelled and Dee clapped excitedly.

"Finally," she ran over and hugged me and I let out a breath. "I'll talk to James and get back to you, but for now, we dance."

A week later

"Ellie, just stay for the three months, that way all the payments aren't going to waste." Liam joined in with Harry as we finished moving my last box into Harry's room.

"Are you sure?" I asked again and they groaned.

"Holy shit, El," Harry ran his hands down his face and Liam did the same. "We are positive." He kissed me quickly and I nodded.

"Okay, I really appreciate it guys, it means a lot." I hugged them both and Harry kept his arm around me.

I had stored all my furniture in Sara's basement, which I was thankful for so I only had to move clothes and toiletries which was easy.

"I'll pay rent too, while I'm living here." I said and they both groaned dramatically. "Don't fight me on it!" I yelled over them and they sighed.

"Alright, whatever you say." Liam said over his shoulder as he walked out of the room and Harry whistled to get Bears attention.

"He's getting so big," I pouted and Harry agreed.

"I know, he needs a friend," Harry smirked and my eyes widened.

"No! He's already enough." I laughed and rubbed behind his ears.
