"Cellular cohesion will take a few hours, but we can initiate the consciousness stream. We're uploading your cerebral matrix. Now." The doctor said as she walked back and forth throughout the lab doing different things. Wanda, Pietro and I had only just gotten here a few minutes ago. I felt thoughts flow through the thing Ultron was creating. I felt a consciousness.
"I can read him." I said stepping toward the cradle, "he's, dreaming."
"I wouldn't call it dreams, it's Ultron's bass consciousness, informational noise, soon-" She said before being cut off by Ultron who impatiently sat near the cradle, I eyed him, sensing his annoyance with the amount of time they were taking. "How soon? I'm not being pushy." He said.
I turned my back to the cradle and I once again felt the thoughts in its head. I stepped closer and I closed my eyes, placing my hands on the cradle, trying to read the thoughts.
I saw the world being destroyed an extinction level event killing everyone. I screamed and fell back landing on the ground. Everyone turned towards me, Pietro and Wanda picked me up. Ultron stood up and looked at me. Tears rolled down my cheeks. Pietro has his hands around my face, trying to calm me down. I turned back towards Ultron who looked at me confused.
"How could you?" I said, the Pain in my voice evident.
"How could I What?"
"Y-you said, we would destroy the Avengers. Make a better world!-" I said as Pietro still held onto me, I felt Wanda put her hand on my arm, hearing my words.
"It will be better." Ultron replied.
I then realized what he meant, I looked back down feeling a tear roll down my cheek. "When everyone is dead?"
"That is not-!" He paused gathering his thoughts, "the human race would have every opportunity to improve."
"And if they don't?" Pietro said looking at Ultron.
"Ask Noah." Ultron said.
"You're a madman." Wanda said sadness and betrayal in her voice.
"There was more than a dozen extinction level events before even the dinosaurs got theirs. When earth starts to settle. God throws a stone at it. And believe me, he's winding up. We have to evolve, there's no room for," he paused and put his hand on the cradle, "the weak. And who decides who's weak? Life." He laughed as he said it, "life always decides." Pietro turned to me and Wanda and moved towards us. Ultron's words echoed through my mind and tears again ran down my cheek. Pietro held my chin and kissed the top of my head, I grabbed his arm and turned to Wanda.
"There's incoming. The Quinjet, we have to move." I looked towards the doctor who no longer had blue eyes. Wanda must've reversed the mind control.
"That's not a problem." She moved towards the control panel and pushed a few buttons. The cradle made a sound and Ultron sighed, then used his lasers to shoot her down. With that Pietro grabbed Wanda and ran out of there, and I flew out of there hearing Ultron behind me call out for us.
"Wait Guys!" But I didn't turn back.
Wanda, Pietro and I heard the commotion going on, with the Captain America and Ultron fighting on the train. Pietro got Wanda on the train while I flew in, landing next to her. Ultron has just punched Captain America in the stomach when Pietro ran by knocking into Ultron who stumbled. He looked at Pietro and started walking towards him when I went in front making a wall of darkness, he turned around to see Wanda.
"Please don't do this." He said.
"What choice do we have." Was all Wanda said. I put my wall of darkness down as she said it. Ultron turned around and aimed the lasers at me and Pietro. Before I knew it Pietro had ran and moved me so, Ultron would miss. After he shot he flew out of the train. Pietro helped me up, as Captain America ran past us looking at the drivers of the train. He was yelling something, and then we all fell back as the train went off the tracks.
He turned to Pietro and pointed outside. "There are civilians in our path." With that Pietro ran out of the train. Captain America turned towards Wanda, "can you stop this thing?" Wanda nodded her head and the red mist flowed from her fingers.I turned to Captain America but then my eyes moved past him seeing the building we were about to hit.
I moved in front of him and pulled the darkness, I moved it around using my mind and the movement of my fingers, I made it go around everyone in the train car we were in. When we hit the building, Captain America flinched ready for impact but nothing came, for the darkness kept its shield through the destruction. The train began to slow down and I decided to help Wanda stop it, I moved the darkness around the wheels of the train and it eventually came to a stop. I fell to the floor feeling drained. Wanda came from behind and held me.
"Are you okay?" Captain America said stepping forward. I nodded my head and stood up. Wanda and I went to Pietro who was out of breath.
"Pietro are you okay?" I asked running up to him.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. I just need a minute." He replied sitting on a wooden crate next to us.
"I'm very tempted not to give you one." Captain America said walking towards us.
"The cradle. Did you get it?" I asked ignoring what he just said.
"Stark will take care of it." He replied. His words made me step back.
"No, he won't." I said shaking my head.
"You don't know what your talking about. Starks not crazy." He said.
"He will do anything to make things right." I said, making Captain America stare at me. He seemed to ponder what I said, eventually talking to himself.
"Stark come in. Stark. Anyone on comms." I looked at my brother and sister in fear.
"Ultron can't tell the difference between saving the world and destroying it." I started saying making him turn his attention somewhere else. "Where do you think he gets that?
