35: Following the Bad Guys

Peter POV:
I turned the corner and paused thinking about what had just happened. After a few seconds i shot a web and swung up onto the roof. I took off my jeans and my sweater and placed them in my backpack. I then heard a soft humming coming from below, I walked slowly and quietly and saw Elizabeth standing on the balcony, looking over at the city, her fingers danced on her locket as she hummed, a lullaby like song, her eyes began to water and she opened the locket looking at the two pictures inside of it, when she closed it she began to cry. It was a soft cry, the type of cry that sounded like heartbreak. I sat looking at her and my heart hurt. I wanted to go down and comfort her, hug her again, but i didn't, I could tell she wanted to be alone. She stood there for only a few more moments before wiping her tears, taking a deep breath, and then walking away. I stood there for only a moment more before realizing the bad guys were on the move. I sighed and stood up, putting my mask on, when suddenly a woman's voice filled my ears.

"Good evening Peter." the voice said. I jumped from surprise.
"Hello? Hello?" I said startled.
"Congratulations on completing the training wheels protocol and gaining access to your suits full capability." the voice said now, and excitement filled me, as it revealed all that was accessible to me now.
"Thank you!" I said feeling a little over whelmed.
"So where would you like to take me tonight?"
"Uh, I put a tracker on someone, he's a bad guy."
"Tracker located." the lady said now, while showing the route to where the guys were located. "Plotting course to intercept target."
"Well as lobby as i make it back in time for the Decathlon, it's fine." i said shooting a web and swinging and landing on a moving truck, after about ten minutes the lady spoke again.
"One hundred meters from destination and closing." after a few seconds she spoke again, "jump now."
I then jumped off the truck landing on the side of the highway. I turned to see a rundown gas station and I quickly and quietly ran towards it.
"Three individuals spotted."
I kneeled down looking at the van that was parked in the lot.
"Why is there secret layer in a gas station? that's so lame." i said sounding disappointed. I quickly jumped up onto to the old gas station sign to get a better view. "hey suit lady what are they doing?"
"Do you wanna hear what they're saying?" she asked. Excitement filled me.
"I can hear what they're saying?.. uh yeah." I replied.
"Activating enhanced recognizance mode." She said as my suit began fill with the voices of the bad guys.
"Woah! That's so cool! If only Elizabeth could see all of this." I said. After a few moments of listening to their conversation I realized what they were up to. "Oh they're in the middle of a heist. I can catch them all red handed, this is perfect! Alright i'm gonna get closer to get a better look." I said readying myself.
"Would you like me to engage enhanced combat mode?" suit lady said.
"Enhanced combat mode? Uh, Yeah!" I said getting in a fighting position.
"Activating instant kill." Suit lady said startling me.
"Woah woah woah, i don't want to kill anybody!"
"Deactivating instant kill." I readied myself again, shooting a web and jumping, but instead of swinging i fell straight to the ground. I groaned, in slight pain and confusion.
"What the hell just happened? What was that?" I said getting up off the ground.
"You jumped off the sign and landed on your face." Suit lady said plainly. I rolled my eyes and scoffed. I shot another web, but it was staggered, it shot like bullets. I began to run and hide behind one of the pillars now.
"Suit lady what happened to my web shooters?" I said, slightly panicking.
"Rapid fire is the default for the enhanced combat mode."
"Why would I need rapid fire?" I asked getting frustrated now.
"Would you like to see the options, you have 570 possible web shooter combinations."
"Mr. Stark really over did it." I said to myself now. I then randomly chose a type of web front he many options.
"Good choice! Would you like me to set this as your default?" Suit lady asked. Before i answered i shot the web, but it started electrocuting the sign. I started to freak out, and pull away from the web, then quickly ran and his again.
"What was that?" I said as I jumped on top of the gas station now.
"Taser webs."
"Taser Webs?! I don't want tased webs."
"You seem to be unfamiliar with your web shooter settings. Would you like to run a refresher course?" suit lady asked now.
"No just you choose." I said calming down, seeing now that the guys hadn't noticed anything yet. After a few moments three semi trucks passed by and the van followed, I then looked up to see the Vulture guy flying strait towards the semi trucks. "Oh that's him." I said now making my way towards the trucks. Once on top of it I saw a bright purple rectangle that showed the inside the trucks, i put my hand through and amazement filled me. I watched as the the vulture guy grabbed some of the boxes of things. He then jumped up on top of the truck holding some of the boxes. I then shot at one of the boxes pulling it towards me. "Hey big bird! This doesn't belong to you!" The guy then jumped up and attached himself to his wings again and flew towards me. I jumped barley dodging him. I shot but the web cut in half missing him. "Suit lady, what was that?!" I said freaking out again.
"Your old me to choose!" She answered.
The vulture then flew towards me, I ducked and dodged, he then grabbed the box i was holding, and I pulled it from him.
"What no! Just set everything back to normal!" I said still struggling to hold on to the box.
"Activating all systems." I then pulled one last time really hard making me fall into the truck.  I then quickly got up and jumped but I hit my head making me fall back down to the floor of the truck, and I laid there passed out.
