He has my number!

There's an uncomfortable silence hanging in the air after Cassie snipes at Gabriel. I shift my weight and clear my throat.

"Okay Sammy, time to go." I say, trying to get my message across to the two other guys standing next to Baby.

"It's Sam, Dean. " Sammy says trying to muster defiance...

Is that a blush I see creeping up Sammy's neck.

The gold eyed boy turns to face Sammy and myself fully. "Sam Winchester?" He says eyeing Sammy.

Sammy definately blushed this time.

"Yeah... but I haven't seen you around, so...?" He says. His voice disappearing.

"Well Sam you are like a fucking skyscraper man. You're not that hard to miss." I say, chuckling. My eyes meet Cassie's, slightly squinted ones. Like he's trying to figure something out. I wonder what he's thinking about?

Gabriel smirks, "Actually Samsquash. It's because I'm your fellow elite nerd."

I'm surprised. I didn't think Gabriel to be the nerdy type. Cassie, sure. With his slacks, white buttoned shirt (fully done) and tie as blue as his eyes... sure. Him.

Get it together Dean. "Well Gabriel, Cassie. This little meet and greet was fun and all but I've got a cherry pie waiting for me back home and I'm sure Sam here has homework."

Gabriel takes out a cherry lolly and pops it into his mouth as a gesture of farewell. Castiel continues to stare at the Winchesters.

"Dean,"

He says my name like it's a question so I cock my head towards him.

"... my name isn't Cassie. It's Castiel." He finishes.

"Uhm. Okay Castiel" I say as I watch him continue to stare at me.

"Come one Cassie. We'd better get going too I guess." Says Gabriel turning around.

"Hey wait " Sammy says.

Damnit Sammy. Why can't you just let them leave? I think to myself as I continue to stare at Castiel subconsciously.

"I should probably take your number so I can tell you about study times and practices and stuff." Says Sammy with a hint of hope in his voice.

"Sure Samsquash" smirks Gabriel, walking closer to us. Castiel doesn't move and inch. It's unnerving me.

Geez, he looks like a fucking stature...a stature looking deep into my soul. Shit

Sam scratches around in his bag: "Crap. Dean I left my phone at home. Lend me yours?"

"Sure thing Sammy," I say handing over my phone, :"but don't think I missed your cussing." I say, my voice laced with a steel undertone. Castiel smirks.

What is up with him? And can he please just look away already. Damn.

"Cool man. I'll send you a text when I get home" Says Sam.

Castiel blushes and looks to the ground as he mumbles: "Have a pleasent evening Dean...Sam". And with that he turned around and walked away, leaving Gabriel to follow at his own leisurely pace. Only after smirking at Sam.

"Come on Sammy, let's go home" I say, opening Baby's door.

(Fast forward )

I take another swig of beer as I stuff a bunch of random dirty clothing into the wash. Thankfully most of my wardrobe consists of plaid and band tees. Nothing like consistency... I chuckle at the thought.

  Drum roll

Taking another swig of beer I fish my phone out of my pocket. There's a message. I wonder who this could be...

Unknown number: Hello Dean

Me: Who the hell is this???

Unknown number: It is Castiel... Gabriel's brother. I just wanted to ask you if it would be alright if Sam came over to our home tomorrow. The boys apparently want to start preperations.

Castiel. Has. My. Number.

Me: Uhm, sure dude. I only get off at about 5/5:30. So I'll come round then to pick him up

Castiel: Thank you for your willingness Dean.

Does he always sound so uptight?

Castiel: Have a pleasent evening further Dean.

Apparently he does.

Me: Sure Cas. No problem.

With a slight smile on my face, I save his name as Cas Novack on my phone. Putting my phone  on the charger in my room I pass Sammy's room:

"Cas tells me you and Gabriel have a date tomorrow after school" I say standing in his doorway. Hi shoulders tense up, but only for a second before he replies.

"Huh? I did't know that drilling one another for arbitrary pieces of information was what is now considered a date" Says Sammy in a matter-of-fact tone.

"All I heard was 'drilling'," I chuckle, "Whatever lil' bro. As long as you're happy." I say, heading down the hall to watch crappy action movies and eat pie.
