Truths Hide In Shadows

Chapter 3

Halluciv huffed softly as he walked down the quiet street. It was a bit too quiet really...

It felt like the shadows were watching his every move... Silently waiting for his guard to drop so they could attack... Quietly murmuring amongst themselves as they watched with their hidden eyes.

"Stop being paranoid." He grumbled to himself.

Even with these words, he picked up his pace... He knew better than to stay out after dark...

"Lucy! You're finally here!" The blond twin grabbed the smaller by the bicep and dragged him to the living room. "Hey guys, this is my bro, he's here to help us." The jock explained quickly.

The football team gave the shorter twin a couple of glances, up and down, judging him. 

In the time between his morning classes and work, Reboot had tied Halluciv's long hair into a braid. It felt well on him as it kept his awful mane out of his way while he took notes and tried to help some people with their work. Besides, he liked it and so did his boss, but now it seemed a bit childish for his age.

"Okay! Sound off!" Marvel shouted at his gawking teammates, earning a wince from the twin who was almost level with his mouth.

 "Chad." A dark skinned male nodded.

"Lesser!" A short, broad boy answered second, having a bright smile on his childish looking face.

"Greater." A bigger version of Lesser called back, giving a peace sign, trying to not make it obvious that he was checking the dark twin out.

"Doggo," Some boy with pale, shaggy blond hair smiled up at the other.

"Jerry." This boy reserved a few glares from the other males, including the friendly Lesser guy.

After that, Lucy ignored them, he just silently watched them... Taking in about everything, from the way they were speaking, tensing and untensing when his gaze fell upon them, even to the smallest glares.

"Xcellence." A deep voice sounded, stopping everything.

Pale eyes met those of red and deep blue, both tense, both unwavering.

The male had shaggy platinum blond hair, bangs faintly forming an X on his forehead. There was a cocky smirk on his lips as a red scar almost glowed against his tanned skin. The male wore a white t-shirt with a black jacket that had white X's on it, the shorts were similar to the jacket in a few ways.

"Pleasure to meet you all." Halluciv gave a polite nod as he kept a tight hold on his bag.

"You're kind of cute for a nerd." The Xcellence guy told with this cocky, matter of fact tone.

The young twin blushed lightly and nodded.

"Thank you, Mister Xcellence." He smiled sweetly.

The football team all blushed darkly at the smile, it seemingly coming from an angel! Hell, even the player was blushing wildly at just an innocent smile!

"What subject do you need help with?" The nerdish male asked, his voice dull and polite.

"Calculus." The star quarterback answered, his eyes never leaving the cutie.

"Of course." The mutter was too soft for them to hear, but it was clear he said something. No one mentioned it though.

Marvel raised an eyebrow as his twin pulled out a couple of pieces of paper, sitting in the only armchair.

"Please tell me that you know the basics?" There was annoyance in the dark twin's words, their pale eyes daring them to say something.

Xcellence had to bite back laugh! Even though, the nerd was almost to his chest, they had quiet an attitude for sure! It was hilarious on how dominate the little guy was compared to the room full of jocks!

"Yeah, we're not idiots." One of the teammates hissed.

The cute twin raised an eyebrow, but nodded.

"Of course." The dullness of his voice said otherwise.

The nerd lightly whispered to himself, looking as though he was thinking.

"I'll give you a practice problem, each of you need to think of an answer and write it on a piece of paper. I'll pick a random few. Got it?" The odd sharpness of the punk twin's voice made a few raise their eyebrows in confusion. No one really talks to them like that.

Taking their silence as a yes, the young male looked at his paper, thinking of what to do...

"The circumference is equal to two times pi times r squared plus thirty-six X. What is the circumference?" 

Everyone stiffened, their eyes almost bulging out of their skulls! The nerd expected them to do that in their heads!

Lucy had to bite his lip to stop from laughing, though, he couldn't stop himself for long!

His soft laughter echoed through the quiet house, it was musical in a way... The laughter full of cheerfulness, it being almost childish. The motion of the introverted twin laughing made him seem younger, carefree even!

"S-So-Sorry, I-I cou-couldn't help my-myself!" There were tears of laughter in Hall's eyes, to which he wiped away. 

The football team relaxed as they heard this. The punk gave them a scare!

"Now let's get down to business."
