Sometimes, he wishes he wasn't as strong as he was. He really hates working the night shift.

A sigh left the male, tiredness forming in his small body. Yet, like most of his teammates, he pushed it away. Sleep can come later, when his shift is done. Besides, one of his teammates needs to sleep... It's still a New Moon after all...

"I thought you took the Dusk, my dear~" A voice purred, shadows wrapping around the human.

The male scoffed, glaring ahead of him. He wasn't afraid... He knew it was watching him.

"I was wondering when you would show. For a moment, I thought you were just a coward, like the rest of your race."

The beast growled, its claws pressed threateningly at the human's back.

"Don't you ever call me a coward." It hissed, the smell of blood drifting from its breath.

The male didn't say anything, but walked forward.

Soon, it was the male who had disappeared.

The beast grumbled to himself, some of the shadows daring a step forward. Yet, a swipe in their direction moved them back several.

"We don't have time for this... We must find the item... Or else the King will have our heads."

The warning sent shivers from all of them, and all of them ran... all but the monster who stared in the place that his human once was.

Maybe he should be like the Great Ones... Maybe he should give in.
