Chapter 40

X kissed Lucy happily, holding him close to his body.

The shorter male giggled into the kiss, pulling away after a minute, looking dazed and dizzy.

"Senpai~" The smaller one whined, their voice turned childish. "I'm not going to be away forever... I'm only staying the night here."

Cell chuckled at the slightly delirious state of his boyfriend. This would be their third New Moon since he found out and their second New Moon as a couple. Sadly, Hall doesn't want to spend the night at his house or have him over.

"I know, but I love you~" He purred, kissing them again.

The Lunar kissed back, wrapping their arms around their tall boyfriend's neck. Oh, how much he wanted them to stay... To be with him on his most vulnerable night...

But, he also knew that he'd get a little... Handsy one could say. He kind of asked this to his boss, who explained that Eclipses were much like Beasts in their own rights. And as such, when a Beast finds a mate, they tend to be extremely territorial of them and whenever possible, want to... have sex with them...

This didn't help that Lucy was naturally submissive in dating roles... Meaning when he's at his weakest and he's found a good mate, he'd kind of want to... be dominated... And would force a domination if he had to...

So yeah, it probably would be best if X wasn't with him on New Moons! For a while at least.

After that last kiss, the monochrome male left. He didn't really have anything to do that night.

He honestly was on a hunt for something to give Halluciv. This was their second month as a couple. Not a huge milestone for most, but for him? It was a big deal! A huge deal even!

He rarely stayed with a girl for no more than a month at most! And he wanted to let Lucy know that he was serious about this!

A thought popped up in his head. Why not a ring? A ring could have many different meanings and it didn't have to be too expensive... It could simply be an old antique ring, since Luc secretly liked antique things.

A smile sprung to the athlete. That sounded like a wonderful idea! He could present it to the shorter male before they go out on their usual training sessions!

The smile widen, a spring in his step as he searched the nearly dark streets for an antique shop.

Thankfully, he didn't have to look too hard. The shop was called Mysteries of the Past. Cute name, specially since the window display was full of cute little toys and all sorts of knickknacks that would've had the little emo gushing all about them.

Walking inside, the young adult was greeted almost instantly by an elderly man. He smiled a smile that seemed wised even beyond his own years.

"Here... For a... gift?" The elderly man paused a couple of times, though his friendly expression didn't change.

Cell nodded, a little weirded out that the man knew he wanted a gift... But then again, he probably looked like a sap to buy things for his lover.

"Who's... the lucky... person?" The man started to walk away, shakily waving the younger male to follow.

"Person?" The athlete straightened his back some, almost ready for an onslaught of some kind.

"O-Oh? I thought... You young... people dated... all sorts of people..." The elder vaguely explained. "Boys with... other boys... Ladies with... Ladies... Then man and... wife... O-Or those folks... That tend to... say they have no... gender at all..." He explained better, stopping to turn to the young adult. He was waiting for him to answer with intrigued eyes.

"I want to get a gift... For my boyfriend... Halluciv..." 

The crimpling man's eyes widen, sparkling with almost delight at hearing this news!

"You love... him very... very much!" He cried as loud as he could with his old age.

Xcellence nodded, a small redness forming on his cheeks.

The man gave a slightly strained, but a pleasant laugh as he continued on his way.

"Yes, yes... Love like... yours... is very rare..." He made a humming sound, stopping at a stand. Gingerly, he picked something up. "And love... should be... shown..."

The elderly man turned around, reaching his hand out toward with a small object in it.

Carefully X picked it up, seeing it was an black banded ring with a reddish-orange gemstone on top. Looking even closer at it, it actually seemed that the band was made out of some sort of black crystal...

"An old black... tourmaline banded... ring with small... specks of Jet... Stone inside it... A rare combination... I have yet... to see done..." The man chuckled softly, smiling some. Shakily, he pointed to the gemstone. "A-A Red Jasper... A fiery thing..."

This got a soft chuckle from the athlete.

"R-rumors have it... That ring... is protected..." The old man nodded, walking slowly to the front again. "Made in the... ancient eras... to ward off... demons and other... vile creatures..." The man stopped at the main hall that lead to the front door. "I think this... Halluciv would... love the ring... dearly..."

The young adult nodded, lightly rolling the ring in his finger. During one of their lessons, Lucy had mentioned that certain types of gemstones did hold healing and protecting properties, even being able to ward off Beasts. Though, X didn't remember which ones Luc had mentioned were the strongest.

"How much-"

The elder held up his hand, slowly shaking his head.

"On the house..." He gave a caring smile. "You are my... last customer for... tonight... Go home and... be safe..."

Xcellence smiled at the man and told him good night. Pocketing the ring, the white haired male quickly left the shop and started to head to his house.

He couldn't wait to show Lucy the ring! Maybe then they'd could have a nice night out or something. That'd be nice.
