James POV
"Morning beautiful." I say as Riley gets into the car.
"Morning." She says happily, but her expression quickly changes to concern when she sees my bandaged hands.
"What happened?" She questions.
"I'm okay." I say.
"I asked what happened." She demands.
"It's nothing. I just beat up my knuckles pretty bad from punching Charlie." I say calmly. A single tear rolls down her cheek.
"This is all my fault." She says quietly.
"No it's not Riles." I assure her. She shakes her head.
"Yes it is. If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't have punched Charlie and you would be fine." She whimpers.
"I am fine Riley. And if it's anyone's fault, it's Charlie." I say. She looks up at me, tears still rolling down her cheeks. I kiss her tears and than her lips. I press my forehead against her temple and whisper in her ear,
"As long as your still my girl, I'll be perfectly fine. Okay?"
She nods and whispers, "okay."
I start driving and she speaks,
"You know, we're not exactly the most perfect looking couple."
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"Well, with your bloody hands and my face black and blue, it probaly looks like we beat each other."
I laugh and than turn to look at her. She was right. Her face was badly bruised, but to me, she still looked perfect.
"I'd never hurt you Riles. I promise." I say. She gives me a weak smile.
"I know." She says softly as she intertwined my fingers with hers.
