Riley's POV
"I'll only be a minute." I tell James. He nods and I run into my house.
I pull on my dance clothes, fix my hair, and do my regular makeup, and than makeup to cover up the cuts and bruises. I finish up, take a final look in the mirror, and rush out of the house.
"Okay, ready." I say, hopping into the car. James looks over at me, and sighs.
"Wipe off the makeup." He says.
"But the cuts and bru-"
He cuts me off when he kisses me softly on my lips. He pulls away and mumbles against my lips,
"Your too beautiful to wear all that makeup. With or without bruises."
I blush and look down and mumble 'thanks.'
"And you have a cute blush too." He says grinning and starts the car. I look away, blushing.
"I do not." I say annoyed.
"Your cute when your mad too." He laughs.
"I am not!" I cry angrily, blushing even more.
"See, you are so!" He smirks. I blush and look away. He always does this to me.
James POV
I look over at Riley, who was clearly agitated with me. "C'mon Riley. I only tease you because I love you."
She just shrugs. We arrive at the studio and go in. I'm immediately ambushed by Kate.
"James, can I speak to you alone in my office please?" She asks.
"Um, sure?" I kiss Riley on the cheek and let go of her hand. "I'll only be a few minutes." She nods and goes over to Michelle and Chloe. I go into Kate's office.
"So, what do you need to see me about?" I ask, sitting down.
"I want you to do another duet with Beth." She tells me. I was shocked.
"I don't think I can. I mean, the last time I did a duet with Beth she kissed me and Riley broke up with me, and me and Riley just got back together and-"
"James, you need to put your personal life aside and act professional about this. So, will you do the duet?" She stares me down with a hard look. I sigh.
"Yes." I reply sadly. She smiles.
"Good, now get to practice!"
I walk out, thinking of ways to explain this to Riley. Than Riley walks up to me.
"So, what dd Kate want?" She asks.
"Well...um...she-"
"Places everyone!" Kate yells, basically saving me. I turn back to Riley.
"Tell you after!" I say and run into my spot.
"Um, okay?"
