George's pov

I couldn't believe Fred had gotten our first meet with Y/n in that locket. I was a little jealous of her for getting a full out projection when I remembered something Fred had told me before the battle had began.

"Georgie, if I go out the hard way...I want you to get something from my time capsule. And I want you to keep it. And if you decide to do something with it, at least let it be you."

I had had no idea what he was talking about, but just as he finished, the seal broke and the war began. I glanced down at the box as Y/n finished up the video. Inside was a small f/c (Your favorite color) box. I grabbed it, somehow knowing that was what Freddie had meant. Out of pure instinct I shoved it into my plaid sweater pocket. It was the last item in the box. Y/n glanced over at me. "What was that?" She asked. I shook my head. "Nothing." She bit her lip, probably not even wondering. She had just relived our first meet. I reached over and hugged her. Knowing she needed it. She choked on her sobs, I knew Fred wouldn't want us like this. But we were still pretty sensitive. It was only May 5th. 3 days since it had happened. When I released Y/n and allowed her to finish packing. I told her she could keep the time capsule. She argued half-heartedly, but I knew Freddie would've wanted her to have it.

I left her to go to a secret spot in the field that Charlie had shared with Fred and I when he graduated from Hogwarts. It was a small glen, hidden in a canopy of towering ever-willows. Over the years, Fred and I had planted many a magical experiment in the rich soil, although surrounding the glade was dried grass and hard dirt. That was what made it an ever-grow patch. Charlie said that Uncle Charles' father Grandpa Maurice, had created it, then passed it on to him. And since Uncle Charles never had kids, he thought it was fit to give it to his namesake, and Charlie, after having his heart broken by Leandra in his last year when she had cheated on him and chosen Chris over him, vowed never to marry nor have kids. Therefore, he gifted it to Fred and I, who had been begging to know where he had been sneaking off to for years. I opened the box, on the inside it had a ring with the words forever and always, along with a small note, folded sloppily and crammed inside. I unfolded it and read it.

'Dear, Y/n, if you ever read this, I want you to know that I bought this with the remainder of George and my savings, (Sorry Georgie).

I rolled my eyes, hear comes the cheese.

But, aside from that, I bought this in our last year when you went into f/s (Favorite magical study). I knew that I would want to be with you until my last breath, and I saw this ring, learned it was one of a kind and had to have it. The stones on either side are mine and your birthstones, and the words, well you can see, they say 'Forever and Always.' So, if you'll be my Forever, I'll be your Always. Love, Fred

My jaw dropped. I hadn't known that Freddie had been planning on proposing to her since we were 18, seriously. I wished he was here to do it. I wished that he could take my place right now.
