Home Sweet Home

Your parents' house was a wreck. Which was strange because it hadn't been when you had left. Letting go of George's hand, you slipped through a gap in the big black gate and walked forward onto dry grass and cracked pavement towards the demolished building. Cautiously you touched the doorknob before gently pushing it inwards, lighting your wand to see the within the dark indoors of the house.

A strange man with curly hair and a grey beard lay sleeping on the couch with a bloody knife in hand. George came up behind you and you sensed him going rigid. He was about to move forward and before you could stop him he stepped through into a trap floor. It caved in and George fell beneath the house. Awakening the sleeping man. He awoke swinging his knife wildly and yelling.

Then he saw you and smiled, his dry lips cracking to being leaking blood onto his yellow teeth. "Hello, y/n." He said your name with a smile and you recognized the man you had loathed from the moment Percy had spoken his name.

And with just as much hatred as the first time you had leased the words you breathed, "Rookwood." His smile widened and his lips bled more. His tight brown boots made whispering sounds on the dusty floor.

He stopped before the pit where George had fallen. He tutted. "Foolish boy." You clenched your fists. He sniffed the air. "So much anger in you child." Then he smiled that evil smile again. "I've seen that boy before...didn't I...kill him?" He asked and you shot a quick curse at him.

You caught him by surprise and he touched his now broken nose, wincing. You held your wand firmly. About to shoot another spell, but before you got the words out, Rookwood's wand was in his hand and matching your position. He sucked in a breath to start another spell, thinking you wouldn't dare curse him now. But you weren't like those heroes in books. You wouldn't wait.

"Crucio." You yelled with as much force and feeling as you could. Rookwood's scream echoed through the empty remains of the house and the cold streets of the town. He fell to the floor writing in pain. You kept your glare steady and your wand trained on him.

"Stop!" He yelled.

"You deserve it." You said reassuring yourself before you gave in. You licked your lips. Enjoying this a little. He killed Fred. He deserved all the pain in the world.

George's pov

I rubbed my right ankle, which had taken all the weight when I had fallen. I heard muffled voices above and anger boiled in me at the thought of Rookwood talking to y/n. Then I heard a voice in my head. Specifically Fred's voice. "George you big lug. Get up there." Suddenly fear arose within me, cold hard fear. I couldn't lose Y/n to Rookwood also. I scrambled up, wincing a little at the pain of my ankle. Then I wandered around, finding the wall. My hand splintered at the rough wood. It was a perfectly square dark room, with only the hole for light above. I reached for my wand, then remembered it falling out of my hand before I'd fallen.

Green light flashed above and a man's screams broke through the air and I wondered what Y/n was doing to Rookwood.

No time to think about that. I had to get out of here. I felt around the floor for my wand and heard muffled words before pink light lit the walls for a split second and the green was cut off. Y/n's spell had been cut off. Soon after, her screams cut through the air, she was trying so hard not to scream.

Your pov

Pain writhed throughout your body as if you'd been thrown into a boiling cauldron then into a blizzard then your skin was being peeled off. You clenched your teeth down, strangling yourself trying not to scream. You wanted George to stay safe in the hole. But you unleashed a wretched scream anyhow. Feeling your wand beside your shaking hand you wrenched it up and yelled the first thing that came to your mind. Rookwood's spell was immediately cut off. But he wasn't screaming. You looked up and saw him on the ground, hearing people apparating onto the grounds of your house. George shot up from the hole at the ready before seeing Rookwood lying dead on the ground. He looked at your broken eyes and tortured body. Before you lost consciousness in his arms.
