My breath hitched, stopping for a few moments as my heart pulsated violently and quickly in my chest, like an animal stricken by raw fear. Undyne pulled herself from the wall, huffing in anger and displeasure to have been stopped by something so menial and simple. I could tell that her soul burned with a deep hate for me. I didn't really know why nor did I want to know. I did the only thing I could, feeling immense fear and discomfort. I was only human after all and I valued my life, wanting to protect myself as much as possible. I feared death and every day I could feel its cold hand coming closer to me, wanting to take what I owed. The thoughts in my mind caused tears to flow down my cheeks. I began to sob, seeing the tears soak into the dress and spread through the soft fabric with ease. I felt terrible for staining the dress but I couldn't help how I felt. Heavy handed footsteps followed after my sobs, seeing Undyne being pushed aside. The fish woman seemed distracted, like she was caught off guard by the situation.
" Big Pup! " I looked up to see Papyrus hover over me, his arms wrapping around me slowly and gently, like a long lost brother or a comforting parent. I buried my face into the skeleton's rib cage, avoiding eye contact with everyone around me. The sounds I heard around me were ominous but perplexing, leaving me with many questions about what was going on. It wasn't like I didn't have questions but something sparked when seeing Undyne, something familiar to me. The look on her face, one I knew all too well from the streets. People looking down on you without knowing your story, judging you for your circumstance. It sickened and turned my stomach, does so even now. Maybe these monsters could show me a life worth living after all.
The sounds that surrounded me were of soft footsteps, followed by stuttering and a gently shutting door. To an outsider this wouldn't even register as sinister but knowing what I did made it all the more worse.
" Kiddo..." I finally look back to me new housemates, feeling a bony head run across my brunette hair gently. Papyrus smiled at me. I didn't have time to notice through, looking around to see if the lack clad fish was still around. No sign. She must have been pushed out, presumably by Sans. I sighed with relief, feeling my heart settle. What could have gone on in there? Something more was going on here and I craved answers. In due time, in due time.
