I couldn't breathe, the slight in front of me taking away my breath in an disturbing and unusual way. The air was literally pulled from my lungs with ever sharp breath, leaving my heart overworking from the lack of oxygen. The smell of blood filled the air, turning my stomach with the strong and sickly smell. Sans was covered head to toe in it, the crimson liquid seeping through his clothes and staining his once pristine white shirt. On first glance I could not see the skeleton's challenger, seeing only the smoke from earlier surround us. All seemed normal, like Sans was fighting an invisible enemy. My heart sank, taking another look into the distance. The smoke had formed into the figure of someone tall and slim and they were fighting, beating up a member of the mafia. Sans breathed heavily, drawing his gun once more after a brief pause.
" Kiddo, get outta here " The skulls moved from my path, granting me access to the road. I look back to the skeleton, weary of my surroundings. Sans was tough but could he handle this? I felt so useless, not knowing what a simple human like me with no previous training or experience could do.I panicked, feeling my mind strain from the stress. I felt like I was pummeling into an abyss, my very being shattering into many pieces. I felt like a puppet of my emotions, being pulled along on strings made of tears. I began to loose control of myself, much like when I was in the trance a short time ago. My body moved without direction, like a corrupted computer with glitched files. I was lost in a sea of confusion, reaching up for one of the blasters in front of me and running my hand over the sleek and smooth bone.
" Laura? " I didn't respond no matter how much I wanted to, oh god how I wanted to. I instead grabbed Sans hand, the gun falling onto the floor with a heavy thump that caused the smoke figure to stand back slightly. The blaster flailed around as I flung Sans and myself up upon it. I was consumed by an unnatural force, my mind broken as well as my spirit. I felt nothing, my body an empty shell.
" Laura, stop! " I wished that I could. I really wanted to.
