Sans was uncharacteristically quiet, keeping his hands in his pockets and his opinions to himself. Even with Toriel around he was quiet, not a pun cracked or joke made. It concerned me. Even in such a short time I had figured the short skeleton out, seeing the strengths in his being. Normally he was literally comic Sans, cracking jokes an only being serious when the time was right. Not now and as I watched the monster trail far behind I felt dread fill my heart, thinking that what he had to ask me may be devastating and sensitive to him, his only weakness. Time would only tell. A smile did grace my features however, watching Lil' Pup hold Papyrus' hand as they walked far ahead with the groceries from the store. The tall skeleton was convinced he needed food to prepare tonight's dinner, no arguing with that. I absolutely loved the spaghetti he had made the night before, wanting to taste more of it and whatever he had to offer in terms of food. My mouth began to water, thoughts of yet another decent meal filling my mind. I was shaken from my thoughts, being pulled to the side by Sans.
" You go on ahead bro. Laura and I have somethin' we need to do " Papyrus nodded, walking away and eventually vanishing from my line of sight. My heart raced, staring deep into the skeleton's sockets. Such worry and sorrow laid in them, the right one flaring into a blue flame that flickered angrily at me. His grip tightened unknowingly to the skeleton, my features twisting in pain from the slight pain that ran up my arms. The pain felt like it ran deep into my heart, beating so quick it could burst. Sans must have noticed this, letting me go as he sighed and leaned against the mildew coated wall behind us.
" Kiddo, didya see somethin' meltin' when ya zoned out? " I couldn't lie to the skeleton, not after he had taken me in, clothed me and fed me. Without him I could very well be dead. I owned him and his brother everything and to lie would be deceptive and rude.
" Yes " The skeleton just groaned, holding a hand up to his skull in displeasure. He seemed to know what was going on, who that person was. My nerves rise, something inside me saying that this was all far from over. All was silent, only passers by and idle chatter surrounding us. I could see the anger rise in Sans' heart, the flame in his eye flickering impatiently. I moved out of the way, panting heavily as I just managed to dodge an army of blue bones that were flung in my direction. They vanished almost as quickly as they appeared, Sans scowling deeply.
" If ya see him again, run like hell " I nodded, now knowing that this was someone not to mess with. I had to trust Sans, for my own safety.
