Four years ago...
"Stiles, I'm seriously freaking out right now!" Said a Scott McCall as his best friend drove to school in the aftermath of the night.
Stiles chuckled. "Calm down, Scotty Boy. Think positive, your body could had refused the bite-"
"Oh, yeah, Stiles!" Scott exclaimed sarcastically. "Turning into a bloodthirsty animal every goddamn time I get angry is way better than dying."
"Scott, calm down. You said it yourself, you get angry and you'll be a werewolf." Stiles glanced at his friend. "Have you talked with your mother."
Scott inhaled and exhaled before shaking his head. "No, no. I haven't at all. Told her a lie and went to bed, I don't have the heart nor the courage to tell her the truth."
Stiles agreed. "I know, you will try to keep a secret for as long as you can. But maybe, maybe it will be better for you to just say right now."
"I can't. How? She hates the word 'werewolf', she hates my father. She will hate me!" Scott sighed. "I already hate myself."
Stiles already knew Scott had some very serious issues, he was kind of depressed. Most of the time, it was the weight of knowing the supernatural and being the son of a murderer but it was back in 2007 when things changed, he suffered a big asthma attack and... died. But somehow, the doctors brought him back but nothing was ever the same.
"Hey, don't worry, wolfy. I'm sure we'll get through this." Stiles smiled. "Till the end of the line."
Scott exhaled. "Thanks."
"Don't sweat it."

Present time...
Derek gulped. He was never good with words, he did not know how to express himself because he never wanted to talk about his feelings. He did not know how to start a conversation with Stiles, how to tell him he was with him through the bad and good times. Derek never did this, not even to his family but he was willing to try if it made his wolf happy.
He walked the stairs as slow as he could, repeating what he was going to say on his head. It made sense most of the time, there was some words that just didn't make any goddamn sense but Derek decided to just say them and hope Stiles would get the meaning of it.
He found Stiles in his room, it was messy, the bed wasn't even made, there were clothes on the floor, the TV was on but Stiles wasn't watching. He was working on his desk that was full of files. There were piles and piles of files and Stiles seemed to focused on his work because he did not hear Derek enter.
"Stiles?" He cleared his throat. "Do you have a minute?"
Stiles looked up from his desk and his face turned into a frown. He kept working and said nothing.
Derek started playing with his hands, it was not such a good beginning but maybe he could turn it around. "I talked with Scott."
"So I heard." His voice was annoyed, it was not his usual voice.
"Don't you want to know about what we talked?"
"Scott's conversations aren't mine. He can talk with everyone he wants. If he remembers." Stiles said that last part quietly.
"I talked to Laura as well." Derek said hopeful.
"Good for you." Stiles kept working.
