So, today is the day.

Fuck.

I knew it was gonna happen. Heck, we all knew he was gonna die. The man was 95! Five more years and he would be 100! But when I heard the news today after school, I was not prepared at all.

It was like a shock to me. Someone I learnt to love and admire was gone. It seems impossible that Stan Lee is gone. But he is! And it's weird because I knew he was gonna die someday, we are not immortal but it just took me by surprise. He was totally gone.

Now, I know that for some of you, it's just another man or a rich man. But for me is a totally different story. Because that man, he saved me and offered me an escape. And I can't believe he is gone.

Stan Lee came to my life in 2008 before the new Iron Man movie. One of my friends gave me his Spider-Man comic book and I read it. I loved the story. And enjoyed it very much. Afterwards, I asked my parents to get me some comic-books which they accepted. And one of them, had Stan Lee's signature (it was a copy, alright? Not a real one, I ain't that rich). So after asking the clerk of the store who was Stan Lee, I was impressed.

I read more and more comic books and then, it happened. Iron Man was coming out and you bet I was excited. I remember looking at Mr. Robert Downey Jr and thinking 'Who is that?' I literally fangirled over it. And when it came around, I was one of the first to watch it.

I fell in love with Tony Stark. Because he was the superhero I identified the most, sure Peter Parker's Spiderman is cool but Tony had a trouble past. He was the son of an arms dealer who didn't show any love, he was a billionaire that liked to hook up and get drunk. But when he got captured by the 'evil guys', he opened his eyes and decided to NOT let that be his legacy.

Also, the man was HILARIOUS and had some balls and ego. I mean, he threw the perfect alibi out of the picture, declared in national television he was Iron Man, went against the United States goverment, fought in another planet, faced a God, made a new freaking element, and much more and he still joked, drank and laughed.

I looked at Tony Stark and wanted to be him (yes, even the drunken and mental ill part. Who knew I would really become him, only poorer) and that couldn't be done without Stan Lee. Because you see, Tony had an absent father who he didn't really get along with. He bore him but that was it. Barely talked to him and when he died, he felt so guilty that he decided to drank his thoughts away.

My dad and I barely get along.

(Long story for another time...)

Stan Lee made a character that you could hate but you knew you needed. And I loved that.

I even made Mark's traits of character match Tony's. (True Pack Arc) and many times I expressed my love for Marvel.

I have all the movies and I always go to the movies. (Loved Venom) And somehow, (weirdly) my dad and I "bond" by talking which scene would Stan Lee's cameo take place.

Now, he won't be in one.

(Yeah, I know Avengers 4 and possibly SpiderMan: Far From Home can be his last cameos given that they finished shooting before his death)

But the new generations will not know who was the man behind all of...this. They will probably grow with new superheroes or recasting but still, they will grow up with Mavel. But they won't get to see the cameos Stan Lee had nor the awesome stuff he did for his fans. How Comic-Con was savage when he was around. Nor they will get his signature in one of their comic-books.

They won't know that feeling of greatness when you see Stan Lee the Man. Heck, they will not know why he is the man! It's like going to see The Maze Runner reboot but guess what Dylan O'Brien died so they will not fucking know what all the great fuss was about. Or Teen Wolf reboot without Posey nor Jeff.

IT WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!!!!

Today, the world lost a great man.

Today, I lost my Uncle Ben.

Rest In Peace Stan Lee.

Thanks for all the wonderful memories you gave me. And thanks for everything.

Now, two minute silence for this man....
