Some months after...
Stiles wore black too many times. He wore black the day his mother died, Boyd's funeral, Erica's, Aiden's, Allison's and many more. He even wore black the day Melissa McCall died. He wasn't prepared back then and he was not even in his right state of mind as he looked at the mirror, almost ready for his best friend's funeral.
Too many deaths and yet, Stiles thought he would never attend Scott's funeral. He didn't deserve to die, not the way he did at least. To be honest, Stiles didn't think anyone deserved to die. But there he was, with a black suit and a black tie. Going to see how they lay his best friend at rest.
'He deserves it.' Stiles thought. Scott had always been restless. Always here and there to protect his pack not having a moment for himself. He was always this selfless man who even in his worst day would make time for his friends. Stiles knew it. So, in a much happier note, Scott was gonna sleep now.
"You know something? I like the blue suit better." A voice spoke. Of course Stiles shook his head when he heard it. No way in Hell that voice truly spoke.
"Gonna ignore me? Well, that's a nice 'thank you' from you."
Stiles looked at the mirror and saw somebody next to him. Smiling like he used to do, no scars covering his body and the spark Stiles thought was gone came back. Scott McCall stood next to him in all his glory. But when Stiles turned around, no one was there.
"I'm going crazy, right?" Stiles sighed.
"Not quite yet, Old Friend. But you're not that far away." Scott chuckled.
"Why are you here? You're supposed to be in an urn about to be thrown to the ground and kept in a nice goddamn, well, urn."
"Came to see you, Stiles. Nothing more."
"Well here I am, looking my best for your funeral."
"I'm glad you're trying to look decent. I was afraid you were gonna show up in your pyjamas and your slippers." Scott joked.
"Almost. Derek made me change my 'pefectly good outfit'." Stiles smiled.
"How's him by the way?" Scott raised his eyebrow.
"Traumatized. It's not every day you get to be the last face a person sees. And your speech there made him cry. Found him in tears, his hand touching your unmoving hand. Not a nice sight."
"Stiles, you still blame yourself, don't you?"
"How could I not? You're dead so there's nobody to blame than me. I am such a horrible Kitsune. I wasn't even present when you died." Stiles exclaimed.
"You were busy. If we are not forgetting that you faced your fears that night. I knew how you felt towards the Alpha Pack and how those memories haunted you. Seeing those faces and speaking those names is tough. Especially in you." Scott looked at Stiles with fatherly eyes.
"Again, I'm becoming insane. Talking to the ghost of my best friend." Stiles sighed. "Funny thing life is, you did everything and yet, you lost it all. I lost it all and yet, I have everything."
Scott's reflexion got closer to Stiles. Almost touching him. "I was a fool in my time, we forget. I did childish things for stupid reasons. Not that I regret them because thanks to them I became the man I was the day I died. But I lost it all before gaining everything. Stiles, don't blame yourself for anything. You did what you could."
"Why are you truly here? Did God let you speak to me one last time or what?"
Scott chuckled again. "Well, I dunno about you but God and I are good friends. He told me that I can have three 'hallucinations' in this world. And I need to tell you this. Because no one told me when I was alive and I think this will help you go through things better than I."
