Present Time...

Jackson Whittemore was a big ass jerk most of the time. He liked to be the jackass of the group. It was his role. Just like Scott's was being the Alpha and Stiles's was being the Second-In-Command. He assumed that because he was the jackass of the pack he wouldn't be asked major favors.

Of course Scott McCall would ask him such big favor. Jackson knew why he asked him and not anyone else. It was because he was the jackass of the pack, no one would even care about what he was thinking. And it made Scott put a target behing his back. However, Jackson was confused. He knew his loyalty was to Scott but he also knew the Pack made the wolf. And even if he was only half-wolf, he was part of the pack.

Stiles was talking and playing games with his new boyfriend. Jackson snorted every time he saw them. Hale was the type of guy who could crush anyone's skull if they pissed him off but Stiles was the type of guy who would ask him to crush someone's skull just because that someone looked at him funny. They were perfect for each other.

And Stilinski deserved it. He had gone through a lot, more than Jackson could ever think of. And even if he hated the guy, well, he disliked the guy, he knew Stiles deserved it. He was gonna be put up with Hell in the days after. It was gonna be rough times and Stilinski would know pain in extreme. And Jackson could prevent that pain, he could break his promise to Scott and tell Stiles everything.

But he wasn't gonna do that.

Instead, he was gonna let them all celebrate. For at least one more time. Eat together, chat together, just be together in general. To forget the pain and the outside world for one more time. To just embrace the feeling of family. There were worst things to come. And Jackson knew them well.

"Hey, Stilinski." He said harsly like he always did.

Stiles looked up from Derek's face. "What now, Jackass-I mean Jackson?"

Whittemore made a face. The dislike was mutual between them two. "McCall had an idea."

"Scott had an idea? Is the world coming to an end?" Stiles joked.

But Jackson did not laugh with him. Instead, he cleared his throat and shifted in between his seat. "You know, well, he is dying and well, he wanted to do something." He trailed off.

Was that the right thing to do? Give them one last wonderful memory before it was harshly taken away from them? Jackson knew the outcomes of McCall's plan. And he knew everyone would be in an immense wave of pain but was it worth it? Was the plan worth the pain? Scott figured yes, however, Jackson didn't know yet. That made him go to the same question. Was that the right thing to do?

"Well, what was his plan?" Stiles asked impatiently.

Jackson snapped out of his thoughts. It was now or never. He could still back down from it, he could tell him everything. That exact moment could shape the whole future. And it laid in Jackson Whittemore's mouth. A simple word could change his future.

"He wants to have a big dinner, you know, like the one he couldn't finish." His words were engraved forever. There was no turning point now. He had chosen his Alpha and not his pack. "One big happy dinner, we all know the next days will be hard and rough. The Alpha Pack is approaching. So, why not have a nice dinner together?"

Jackson just hoped he had made the right decision.

That day in the hospital...

"You want me to do what, McCall?!" Jackson straight up yelled. Is not everyday someone ask such favor.

Scott kept his posture the same. "Fake my death."
