He was the son of a murderer. A cold-hearted killer. His childhood had been a lie, the men and women he shared milestones were killers and just wanted power. He was the son of a man so horrible, that himself was afraid of his name.
His childhood had been full of hate, rage and jealousy. His mom tried her best to help him and tried to cut ends with his father but that man found ways to see his son and talk with him. He was trained when he was little, he was taught to hate people, especially the Hales. Each day his father would tell him that Derek and Cora could be better children than him, and that he rather have them as his own kids.
He grew up with a man named Deucalion. He thought of that man with such great respect, he was his uncle. He did not know he was the man responsable for the deaths of two whole families. In Scott's mind, his uncle was the most caring man in the world. And he was four.
It was when he turned eight that he began to understand. He began to see, to know who were those people. But he still saw them as family, they were the only ones he truly knew. It was a pack. He could not betray them so easily. But he did. He did it when he finally understood Kali's words.
"Like father, like son."
Scott was taken to a fighting class, his father told him that would help his asthma and help build character. But he did poorly, very poorly. Those other kids were stronger and taller than poor Scott. He was getting his ass kicked and the 'group' of his father just laughed. His own father amused by the pain his son was in. But he could see in his eyes that he was disappointed. That his kid was such a wuss.
It made Scott want to make his father proud. So, in the next fight, he grabbed the kid by the hair and pushed him to the wall. Somehow, he managed to break the kid's hand and give him a black eye. Scott was immediately thrown out but the pride in his 'family's eyes' were good enough for him. And Kali's words didn't make sense at all for him but he thought it would mean something good, right?
It all changed one night. The night he truly understood Kali's words. It was a routine night, go out in the woods and patrol to make sure nothing happened. His father told him he could take the night off but he wanted to make his 'pack' proud. So, he sneaked out of his house in the dead of the night and started to make his own patrol routine. Like he was taught since the beginning.
But as he walked in the dark forest, he heard shouts and laughs out in the distance and decided to check it out. He got closer and the sounds grew bigger and each step was agony, thanks to those screams and laughs that sounded like some psychopaths laughing at someone's pain. He hid behind a bush, he didn't like fights nor blood, well, human blood. So, if something horrible was happening, he rather not be the next.
But he saw it all.
His father and his group of friends, the ones he learnt to love and care, were destroying and slashing someone's chest. Laughing as the blood spilled in their faces and clothes. The man (it was dark but he knew it was a man) tried to fight them off but they were many and he was only one. He screamed in agony as they just kept cutting slowly and seemed to enjoy each moment of it. His father mostly. Whom was the bloodiest of them all.
Scott watched horrified as how those people were killing that man. He took some steps back in shock, as he had never seen that side of his family. Or what he called family. He oddly stayed there, unable to look away from that. And when his father and his group finally left, he just stood there. The man's chest continued to breathe but Scott wasn't so sure he wanted to see the man. However, he needed to know how badly was the damage and maybe he could have a fighting chance.
Scott was never big on fights. He rarely won them. He liked to stay in his little world and try to solve problems by talking. Like any human being would do. He was also scrawny and had asthma, something that didn't help to much. He didn't like to hurt other people, he hated the thought of ending someone's life and that was the subject of such humiliation in his family part.
