As Scott wrote, Lydia approached. The karaoke machine was almost set up and she wasn't needed. She sat on the chair next to Scott who hadn't looked up to see her.
"How's everything?" She asked watching how Scott's hand moved from a side to another.
He shrugged. "I dunno anymore, to be honest. I think it can be as good as it can actually be. And you?" His pen kept writting.
"It's hard to process." She admitted. "We were the Core Four, remember?"
Scott did look up that time as he did remember the nickname, he just hadn't heard it in a very long time. Stiles made it, when the four of them came together to form the 'original pack'. He called the 'Core Four', it was formed by Scott, Stiles, Allison and Lydia, of course that they stopped using that nickname as things got more and more complicated, also because Allison died.
"Haven't heard that name in a long time." He sighed. "Four years gone by and it feels like fourty."
Lydia nodded. "I feel like we have been fighting for such long time. The Core Four, how much has all changed."
"You being the 'popular' kid who was the smartest but hid it, Stiles being the comedian and straight guy who loved you, Allison being a new hunter just beginning to understand her family and me." He made a pause. "A sixteen years old kid, who had the world at his hand."
"Do you regret anything? Do you fear something?"
Scott wrote in his paper as he answered. "Tried not to regret a lot of things, and I am proud to say there are not a lot of regrets in my life. Now fearing something? I do, I do fear things but I try my best to face them."
Lydia nodded and look at one extract of Scott's paper.
Down by the River.
"Derek and Stiles? Do you hate them?"
"I gotta admit, I am not the biggest fan of them right now. Maybe never but Stiles needs someone right now and I think Derek Hale can be the best bet."
"It reminds me a lot of someone else."
Scott groaned. "I plead you not to say what I know you're about to say."
"They remind me of you and Ally." Lydia said. "It seems like you took the role of Chris, quite funny but tragic. I just got one question for you?"
"Shoot straight and let's see if you miss."
"If you know that they remind you of Allison and yourself, why keep them apart? Didn't help you and Ally at all."
Scott shook his head. "Because if I am Chris, that means Stiles is Allison. And I cannot let him go, not like her. I couldn't protect her nor Aiden but I will try to protect you and him."
Lydia flinched at the mention of Ethan's twin. It was already painful seeing Aiden's face in Ethan but that reminded her of his last words.
"Lydia never believed I was one of the good guys, anyways."
Because maybe he started in the wrong path but heck, he tried anything to correct his way. Sadly, Lydia didn't see that until it was too late.
"Sorry." Scott realized his mistake. "I shouldn't had named him."
She shook her head. "Is useless being afraid of a name. They're gone but they died bravely. Nothing bad about that."
