Chapter 5

{Ryan}

I dry myself off with a towel, and change into casual clothing. Athletic shorts, an Oilers dri-fit t-shirt and flip flops.

The boys and I had won a challenging game tonight, and I am proud of the team. I scored the game-winning goal, and I did it, one hundred percent for Taylor.

"Great game Nuge. What a shot." Ebs compliments as he walks past me.

"Thanks man." I say. "Yeah, Nuge it was there was some girl in the crowd that you were playing for." Justin smirks. "No, I just had a really good game." I shrug.

But, I really did have a girl out there I was playing for. I invited Taylor down to the locker rooms after the game, so that I can see her and she can talk with us. Family members, friends, and girlfriends always come down to the locker rooms after games.

She's probably waiting outside right now. I look around to make sure that all the guys are finished changing before I bring a girl into here. It looks like everyone is done.

I walk up the door, pull it open, and look down the hallway that we use to get into the locker rooms. Sure enough, there is Taylor leaning against the wall.

"Taylor!" I call, smiling.

She looks up, and our eyes meet. Her eyes widen and she comes running to me.

"Ryan!" She says, happily as she gives me a hug. I wrap her up in my arms, before letting go.

"You played so well!" She says. "Thanks Tay." I smile. "Where's Jessica?" I ask.

Suddenly, a tall, big, good looking man walks up and stands behind Taylor. He looks freakishly similar to Gabriel Landeskog, the player that went second overall at the NHL entry draft in 2011. He looks so familiar to me, but I can't quite put my finger on it. I wonder why he is here.

"Well, actually Ryan, I didn't bring Jessica tonight..." Taylor trails off.

My stomach falls. Did she bring a... boy?

"Oh okay!" I say, trying to sound excited. I can't believe this is happening.

"Ryan, this is Logan Adams. He plays for the Golden Bears and we have been talking for bit now, and I invited him to come with me tonight." She smiles, happily.

I knew I recognized him from somewhere. He's the Golden Bears star. He's a super talented kid, and I can tell that the girls would be all over him.

"Uhm.." I say, unable to speak.

I swore Taylor said she was going to bring Jessica. I'm not mad at her or anything, but I'm just utterly surprised. Taylor isn't dating him is she?

My mind is asking so many questions, and I don't have any answers.

Taylor looks suddenly worried.

"Uhm wow! This is such an honor to meet you, Logan!" I say, making it seem like I'm just in shock at meeting the famous Logan Adams.

Taylor's worried look on her face disappears.

"I think the real honor is to be meeting you." Logan says, as he shakes my hand.

He's a big guy, and as I said before, he could be identical twins with Gabriel Landeskog.

"Thanks man. Do you guys want to come in?" I ask. "That would be a dream come true. You are such an admirable player." Logan continues.

I can tell he's quite starstruck right now, but I couldn't care less.

My heart is aching. Taylor is with another boy, and it's not me. I'm not mad at her, I'm just sort of... hurt.
