Chapter 24
{Ryan}
It’s Friday, July 4, also known as Independence Day, and it’s 5:00 in the evening.
I’m on my way to pick up Taylor to go to the hospital to finally get her boot off.
The past two weeks have been confusing, but good.
I told Taylor that I have always been in love with her, and I felt some kind of spark when I did. I felt as if she just might be in love with me, but I don’t know.
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately, and I honestly think that Taylor has feelings for me.
I don’t know why, but I just get that impression. I could be wrong, but I strongly believe she has feelings for me.
It’s once again, a beautiful summer day in Edmonton. The past week has all been gorgeous, including, Canada Day. On July 1st, Taylor and I spent the day together in Downtown, watched the fireworks, and just hung out. It was awesome, and we really continued to re-connect after being disconnected for so long.
This is all still coming as a shock to me. The fact that Taylor has been hanging out with me, talking to me, and even more so that I told her that I am in love with her.
But it seems to be going alright right now.
I don’t know what’s going on between Logan and Taylor at this point. Taylor hasn’t told me anything other than the fact that he cheated on her. But she hasn’t told me anything about them breaking up, or anything like that.
I feel the fresh breeze blow through my hair as I drive closer and closer to Taylor’s apartment.
I finally arrive at her apartment building, park my truck, and head upstairs to her room.
I knock on her apartment door, and I hear a few hobbles as someone comes to the door.
I smile. I can’t help but laugh at her sometimes with the boot on. At least she’s getting it off today.
“Hello,” She laughs, finally opening the door.
“Why hello there Taylor.” I wink. She gestures for me to come in, and so I step further into her apartment.
“You almost all ready to go?” I ask, as she hobbles back to her room before disappearing.
“Yeah, almost. I just have to finish putting my makeup on.” She calls back.
Taylor is gorgeous. She doesn’t need makeup to look pretty.
“Alright, well any time now.” I tease.
“Shut up Ryan!” She calls, laughing.
I look down and roll my eyes playfully.
I walk through her apartment to the balcony. I look out at the city beyond the balcony. Taylor has a gorgeous view of Downtown from her apartment. She has a way better view than I do from my house.
Taylor then walks out with her purse, and she’s wearing a Nugent-Hopkins t-shirt that is way too big for her.
“Nice shirt.” I smile. “Yeah, I couldn’t find anything else to wear, so I had to go with this.” She laughs, shrugging.
