Chapter 3

Of all the people who had to sit with us at lunch why did it have to the Cullen's. Just talking to Alice alone got under my skin, but now having to talk to four of them at once? I just wanted to walk away, but I also did not want to be the topic of everyone's conversations.
  "So, Alex what do you think?" I snapped out of it and quickly looked up to see a bunch of eyes staring at me. I pulled a strand of hair behind my ear before shaking my head.
  "What do I think of what?"
Angela rolled her eyes at me and nudged my shoulder with hers.
  "Lost in thought again". Mike chuckled. "Must be thinking about me again". Jessica groaned then pushed he off the table. Mike tumbled onto the lunchroom floor making all of us, even the Cullen's laugh.
   "In your dreams lover boy". Eric replied as Mike stood up from the floor.
  "Anyway. We wanted to know what you thought about having the graduation party at the Cullen's place?"
Oh hell.
  "It was Alice who suggested it". Jessica added. "I've never seen your guys place before".
I glanced over my Alice who was just beaming from year to year. I shook my head.
  "You'll love it!"
Edward seemed to look annoyed at her for even suggesting it. Now that made me grin. For once we finally agreed on something.
  "Maybe some other time".
  "Edwards right Alice-"
Alice dropped her shoulders. "It'll be fun".
  "That's what you said the last time". Bella replied looking uncomfortable. I moved my eyes her et her afce and it was clear that she was not okay with the idea. And I could not blame her. After what happened at the last Cullen party she clearly was not ready for another one.
This was not a good idea. All these humans with all those vampires. Especially Jasper who was still learning to control his thirst. This was going to end badly, and I could feel it.
I turned my attention to my sister who just sat back in her seat with a so me what smile on her face. Edward smiled at her and reached around and placed his arm around her.
  "Don't you think we should have it at a hipper place". I suggested glancing around the table at everyone. "Like the outdoor gardens or-"
  "That place is lame". Mike interrupted me. I just rolled my eyes at him. What was his deal anyway?! I was getting real sick of him and his I know everything attitude.
  "No one asked you Mike!" I blurted out.
  "Woah. Chill Alex". Eric said. Looking around the table at everyone's startled expressions I pulled my book bag from the chair next to mine and stood up.
  "I'm getting some air". I said.
  "Alex, wait". Bella called after me. Within a few seconds she caught up with me at the front of the school steps. She reached out to grab my arm, but I pushed her away. I was in no mood to talk to her. Or any of the Cullen's for that matter.  I had to get out of here asap.
  "What's wrong?" Bella asked as I floated over to my car. I sighed and turned.
  "You may be okay with a bunch of humans at their place, but I'm not". I stated firm while keeping my voice down to ensure that no one overheard us.
  "Edwards family won't hurt them- "
I snorted. "Just like how Jasper didn't hurt you at the party!" Bella looked away from me and I could right away feel the emotions of that evening rise in her. I knew that was a night that both she and Jasper wanted to forget, and I hated bringing it back up. All the pain and emotions it put her, and Edward threw, but it still happened. She was still almost drained of her blood and that would have been a nightmare for all of us.
  "Look", I paused glancing back up at the school building as Edward came to see if Bella was okay. I glared at both before turning back to my sister. "I need to see Jake, Bells. I'll see you back at Charlies". I said getting into my car. I let out a sigh and pulled out of the parking lot.
  That was it. I had to see him. I had to talk to him. I just needed to get all of this off my chest now or I swore that I was going to lose my god damn mind. It couldn't wait any longer. If even I was still incredibly upset with him for lying to me about all of this Bella dating vampire crap I still needed to see him. Hear his voice and just talk to him face to face.
