Edward dropped me off at Charlie's an hour later and as I walked up to the house I coudnt help, but reflect on our conversation. It brought a smile to my face. Who knew that I was going to give Eddy boy advice on how to deal with my sister. But I felt like he had needed it. And I truly hoped that it had helped him in a way. I let out a sigh as I unlocked the front door and then closed it behind me. It was well over midnight and I had already called Charlie well a haed to let him know that I wasn't going to be home until late. Fortuntly for me he was stuck at work.
Better for him to have his mind busy with work then be stuck worrying up a storm at what was going on here. I wasn't about to bring him into this whole situation. That wouldn't be good for anybody. He had a enough to worry about now, especially with Bella's wedding..whenever that was.
I shook my head and hung up my jacket on the post then I kicked off my shoes and bolted up the stairs. I was going to do as Jake told me and get some rest. It had been a while since I had gotten a decent nights sleep and after being stuck up on a mountain in the bitter cold wrapping up in a fluffy blanket in the comfort of my own bed felt pretty damn good to me.

Pulling up to jake's the next day I felt well rested and still nervous about seeing him, but thank goodness that he was now up and not in consant pain. Billy even mentioned that he had gotten up and walked around. Which really did to calm me down on the drive here, but I wanted to see it for myself. As I stepped out of the truck there he stood on his front porch. A big grin clear as day on his lips. I couldn't help but smile back as I approached him.
"Hey you". He said reaching for my lips. He brushed his against mine as I wrapped my hands around him.
"Hey yourself. Its good to see not in pain anymore". Jake nodded his head and wrapped his good arm around my waist. I let out a breath of relief and followed his led into the house. Jake then led us into the empty living room and we both sat down on his old plaid couch. I leaned my head into his chest and he put his feet up on the other spots.
"You and me both. Lucky the worse is over. Sam said most of the pain was caused by the bones trying to I guess form back". Jake stated.
"Thank goodness. Seeing you in that much pain..." I hesiaited as I could feel a few tears form in my eyes. I shook my head as Jake tightened his grip around me.
"I know". He kissed the top of my head. "I made you worry and I'm sorry about that, babe".
"Jake, you have nothing to apologize for. You were just trying to stop Leah, but she woudn't listen. All you did was try to help her out". I said looking at him. Jake sighed and turned away from me.
"Still-"
"Leah is apart of the pack Jake. She's pretty much family and you cant turn your back on family".
Jake grinned and laid his forehead against mine. I was so lucky to have this man in my life. Seeing how much he cared about his fellow pack members was sweet. Though they were not all related they felt like one big family...just like the Cullens. Blood may be thicker then water, but for them blood didn't matter.
"Have I ever told you how much I love you". Jake replied as I laid my head back on his chest. A laugh escaped my lips as I entangled my legs with his. Seeing him happy and healthy right here in this moment made my whole body feel at ease.
Jake had always made me feel safe, warm and protected, but even now I could feel it even more. I felt safe with him. Like he would let no one ever hurt me in this moment and that was a feeling that I wanted to stay forever.
"Several times I believe". I chuckled.
"Its true". Jake said. "I love you, Alex Swan".
