"You weren't kidding when you said that I'd be impressed. Alex you look stunning". Finishing putting on my shoes I glanced up from my work to meet Jake's drop dead stare. His expression made me grin and flip my hair behind my back.
"Told you so". I said. I was pretty impressed with myself too. I wasn't much of a fashion forward gal myself, but compared to my sister I had way more fashion sense. After putting on my shoes I took Jake's hand and followed him out to his bike. I raised an eyebrow up at him.
"Your bike? Really Jake?"
He smirked. "I figured if I was going to crash a party why not do it in style".
He really was a perfect match for me.
I just rolled my eyes at him then nudged his arm. "Your insane".
"But in a good way?"
I smiled. "In a good way".
"Ready?" He said getting on then handing me the bike helment. I let out a breath that I was holding back and slowly reached out my hand to take it. I had never ever ridden on a motorcycle before, but I was sure that with jake behind the wheel id be safe. I trusted him with my life.
"Ready as ill ever be". I said finally getting on the bike. Jake smiled as I wrapped my arms around his chest and pulled me close to me. Feeling his warmth against mine.

"Woah". I couldn't believe what I saw as we pulled the bike up to the Cullen's driveway. The entire three-story house was decked out in lights, torches and all kinds of beautiful decorations. When Bella said that Alice went all out for parties she wasn't kidding. This whole set up was like something out of a teen romance movie or some type of fairytale. Stepping off Jake's bike I was almost speechless. Everything was so beautiful. From the way the lights melted with the green trees. It was all so perfect. I couldn't even stop myself from smiling as I felt Jake wrap his arm around me. Having his warmth slip around me made me grow calmer and feel at home.
"Woah is right". Jake replied as I pulled on his arm and led him up the steps to the inside of the house. As we entered it seemed like the entire house was full of life, which was pretty much ironic since the only people that lived here weren't actually alive.
Half of the people here I didn't even know and that was okay with me. After tonight I would never see any of these people ever again and that was just fine with me. After high school most people forgot about each other. It seemed to just be a part of life.
Moving our way through the crowd I happened to lay eyes on Mike who was slow dancing with Jessica, which brought a smile to my face. I had always hoped that Mike and Jess would get together. They seemed like they were meant for each other. Plus it would get Mike off both me and Bells back and Jess off Ed's. And that brought relief to me.
"Alex!" Turning my attention to the stair case as we rounded the corner I found Alice and her honey colored eyes smiling down at me.
"Hey Alice.." I greeted her requtanly. She hopped her way down the last steps and pulled me into a hug.
"You look so stunning". She complimented me as I pulled away from her. In doing so she happened to glance quickly behind me at jake and only nodded her head. Then she gestured to the balcony out back. "Ill see you two later".
"That was-"
"Pleasant". Jake finished.
"Surprisingly". Taking my hand in his Jake pulled me along and out towards the balcony that Alice had suggested to us. I knew Alice could see the future/ predict it, but she also hated the wolves so what did she knew that I didn't?
"Speaking of...well this isn't exactly a surprise, but I don't care". Jake said as he leaned us up aginst the wooden balcony. Then he reached into his pants pocket and pulled out the charm braclet with the little wooden wolf that I had found in his work station. As he laid it in my palm I noticed that the wolf wasn't alone this time. This time the chain now had a wooden carved heart that was painted red. Looking at is more closely I could see all the individual details and I couldn't believe that this was for me. Jake had made this for me. Had spent many hours making the charms and chain for me. Just for me. I had to smiled at his hnady work.
I could feel a few taers streaming down my cheeks, but I wiped them away looking up at my boyfriend. How did I deserve such a sweet wonderful guy like him? I wasn't sure how, but I knew that I was damn lucky to have him.
"Jake this is perfect. Thank you". Taking both my hands Jake grabbed the chain from me and wrapped it around my wrist for me. Without any measurements the bracelet fit perfectly around my hand. And it sat just right.
"It's not very fancy".
I shook my head and laid my hand on his cheek. "I don't care. You made this, Jake and that shows real value". He smiled softly and pulled me against his chest. Slowly Jake began to run his tan fingers through my long curly hair as we began to sway back and forth to the sounds of the night.
Just me, Jake and the sound moment of being here. I never wanted it to end. I just wanted little perfect moments like this to last forever. I had missed out on so many of these that we were apart it was now time to make up for missing out on them. Starting off with tonight. And every night that we could have. I wanted them to be all ours.
But deep down in my chest I knew that it wouldn't stay like this. That new vampire army was growing day by day. Gathering me and Bella's scent and it was only a matter of time before they would come here, to Forks. To hunt both of us and I still hadn't told Jacob yet. He after all had every right to know. I was his girlfriend/ Mate and Bella was his best friend. Two of us, his closest friends were being hunted and he had no idea.
Letting out a breath and closed my eyes. As much as I wanted to tell him what was going on, part of me didn't. Newborns were no laughing matter. They were dangerous and I didn't want Jake to be put in harm's way. I didn't want him to get hurt, or worse...Killed.
"I'm really glad that you came back to Forks, Alex". Jake said breaking me out of my thoughts. I smiled and laid my head down on his chest. So was I. At the beginning I was terrified of coming back here because of everything that had happened when I had left, but after being back for a few weeks I had come to realize that I had missed it. The cold wet weather, Charlie's not controlling parenting, my sister and even the people. Everything here felt so homey and comfortable to me and I hoped that I would never have to leave it again.
"I'm really glad I came back too". I looked up at him as jake leaned in.
"I love you, Alex". Jake whispered as I leaned in more breaking the space between us. Jake's lips came smashing down on mine and I brought my arms around his neck as his found my hips. I could feel the intense heat radiating off of both of us and Jake moved his fingers along the grooves of my spine. A heat began to rise in my chest and move up to my lips as I could feel a sense of wanting taking over both of us. I pulled away leaving both of us out of breath. I licked my top lip meeting his eyes.
"Ill say this Alex, your one hell of kisser".
"I- we-"
Jake smiled and kissed my forehead. "Its not the right time. I know".
I let out several breaths that I had been holding in.
"Jake there's something I should-"
"Alex, Jacob". Both of us turned out attention to a concern looking Carlisle standing at the balcony doors. Something about his facial expression brought a wave of uneasiness over me and that did not look good.
"What is it, Carlisle?"
He sighed. "Alice had a vision".
Oh no..
"What did she see?"
"The newborns they are moving. They are coming here".

"How long do we have before they get here?" Bella asked standing close to Edward, who seemed to be holding my sister tight and I didn't blame him. He wanted to protect her with his very being and part of me felt relived for that.
"A week. Maybe two at the most. They are moving fast". Alice answered her. I could see Jake rolling his eyes in the corner of the room. I let out a sigh then crossed my arms over my chest.
"No kidding". Jake seriously this was not the time for this. I glanced over my sister and she meant my gaze. She was thinking the exact something I was and we both knew the outcome. I wanted to tell Jake the truth, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I didn't want him to get hurt or even killed, but Bella's look said it all. He had the right to know. I was his mate after all and if I was in danger then Jake had no choice but to act. He was bound to me. Saving me and protecting me was his lively hood. And I had no reason to keep him from that.
"Then we must act". Emmett piped up.
"Emmett please". Esme pleaded softly. Carlisle sighed and looked over at his adoptive son, Jasper then to his wife Esme.
"Newborns are stronger then us. More powerful. They could rip us apart in seconds". Jasper replied in his thick southern accent.
"Not us". Jacob stated pushing back against the wall. I looked away. "The pack is stronger, faster. And besides they'd have to catch us before they could sink their teeth into one of us".
"They are not like normal vampires, Jacob". Jasper stated speaking directly at my boyfriend. Jake scuffed making Edward groan. They really did not like each other and it was pretty clear.
"Jake, he's telling the truth". Bella said.
"Okay. So then what makes them so special?"
Jasper nodded his thick blonde hair. "Newborns are newly turned humans. They are at the peck of their strength and abilties. Once a person is first changed they are at their strongest. They are unpredictable, ruthless and will do anything to get their hands on a meal". Jasper stated firm which sent a shiver up my arms. I quickly hugged myself and glanced up at Jake, who seemed to be ignoring me at the moment.
"That just means that we have to be more ruthless then them".
"Jacob that would only make things worse". Edward stated looking up at him. Jake growled at him then looked down at his best friend who looked like she was in agreement with Ed.
"And your are some newborn vamp expert now?" I shook my head and slammed my fist onto the table. All eyes darted to me as I let out a frustrated breath of air. It was now or never, Alex. He deserved to know how I felt about this.
"Are you out of your mind, Jake!" I shouted at him. Jake's softened at my change in tone of voice.
"Jasper just told you that their unpredictable and a killing machine and you think you can just take them on alone?! This isn't some competition to see who the strongest is, this is real. Real danger-"
"You don't think I know that?! Hell, its' pretty much suicide". Jake yelled back at me as tears streamed down my cheeks. I couldn't let him do this. I couldn't do this. I had just gotten him, and I was not going to lose him again. Not this time.
"Then why? We fight?"
"but we have to do this. I have to do this, Alex".
I couldn't stop the tears, "Jake you have nothing to prove. You getting hurt is not worth it".
Jake let out a sigh and meant my eyes. "I'm not doing this to prove anything".
"Then what?! What are you doing this for?"
Jake stepped closer to me and reached out. "I'm doing this, so I don't have to live without you, Alex".

This one is longer because I didn't want to break it up... I wrote this yesterday and I haven't written anything since so next update may be a bit late.
