CRESCENT (Alex X Jacob #2)

Chapter 6

              Laying my head on his chest, his arms curled around me as we laid next to one another on the softness of Jake's bed. Hours had passed since I had rushed over here to talk to Jake and we had talked all that time. Things now seemed to be good with us, but that lingering feeling of distrust still filled a small corner of my soul, but for now I pushed it away. I just wanted to be with him. Just the two of us. Or at least until Billy came back.
"Comfortable?" Jake asked breaking the silence.
"Very". I said, "I forgot how calming laying on you is". Jake smirked, and I caught a glimpse of it out of the corner of my eye.
"You could spend the night here". My eyes darted to his. "My dad's up fishing with Charlie for the weekend so it would just be us". Cheeks flushed red I bolted up from Jake's body and turned my face away.
"Isn't me spending the night a little sudden?" I barely choked out. Jake smiled, sat up and pulled me back towards him. My heart was just racing as Jake pressed his lips to my cheek. Dammit why was I so nervous all of a sudden? I mean I had spent some evenings alone with Jake, but spending the night? I shook my head.
"Alex, if you don't want to-"
I shook my head again and meant his eyes. "It's not that I don't want it's just that..." I was so hesitant to say anything else. Luckily Jake could sense how I was feeling and put his hands-on mine, which were sitting on my knees.
"We won't do anything, unless you're comfortable with it". Jake replied trying to ease my nerves. I felt relieved as I let out a breath and brought my lips to his. Then I ran my fingers through his hair as I felt Jake grab my legs and pull me into his lap. I could feel his hands running up my back as I pulled my lips from his. Once again, he smirked those lips of his making me blush slightly.
"Thank you". I said while Jake leaned in to kiss my forehead.

                 By time I had left Jake's it was nearly dark out and I knew that Charlie would wondering where I was. It had been quite some time since I had last stayed out this long and I did not want to make him worry after everything that happened with Bella.
However, as I pulled my car down the road I spotted a silver volvo just parked there. I let out a groan. You have got to be kidding me? I brought my car into the driveway and turned off the engine just as Edward and a person that I didn't know stepped out of my house with Bella following them. I slammed the car door behind me and pulled my bag from the back. Dashing towards them Bella looked away from the tow males and over towards me.
     "How did it go? Are you and Jake-"
I nodded my head. "Everythings okay between us, but I still think he can sense that I'm angry with him".
  "You have every right to be".
I sighed.
  "Yes I do. At both of you".
  "Alex I-"
I shook my head and glanced at Edward and the unfamiliar figure to his left.
   "see that you brought another one here".
Edward eyed the short wavy blonde-haired male as he stuck out his hand. I glanced down quickly at it and then at him. He was much younger looking then Edward. The god like face suited his appreance much more. But even still I wasn't about to give him the benefit of the doubt. I wanted no part in the Cullen's little family. Bella being a part of it was ticking me off as it was.
   "Alex this is my adoptive brother, Jasper Hale". Edward said introducing me to Jasper. So he wasn't a Cullen by blood, but he was still one of them and that made him not trust worthy. Especially since he was the very same Cullen who nearly killed my sister. That fact alone made him twice as untrustworthy.
Jasper flashed me a smile and pulled his arm back to his side.
    "It is a pleasure to meet you, Alex".
Southern accent humph...cute, but not my type. And I was not going to fall for it.
   "Nice to meet you to. Now why are you two here anyway? I think my sister can go one evening without seeing yo-"
    "Alex there here to help".
I nearly choked. "Help you?! After what they put you through, there here to help? That's a good joke Bells". I crossed my arms over my chest. Help? Yeah right. The Cullen's were not here to help. All they were good for was causing problems.
     "Your sister is right, Alex we are here to help you both". Jasper replied to my statement.
     "Oh no. I don't want to be a part of your freaky vampire stuff. If you want to help me then leave me the hell alone".
    "I am afraid we can not do that". Edward stated firm yet calmly.
     "And why not?"
He better not fucking with me. I was already ticked off with Edward dating Bella, but now he wanted to protect me and not leave me alone? He was really asking for it.
    "Someone broke in Alex". Bella said placing her hand on Edwards chest. My eyes widened and I stopped.
    "What? How?"
What was going on??
      "Bella what happened? Who broke in?"
Bella sighed and glanced up Edward who seemed to be on edge.
     "They were gathering clothing items of yours and Bella". Edward said. I raised an eyebrow out him.
    "But why?"
Something wasn't adding up. Why the hell would someone break into our house just to steal a few pairs of clothing? Nothing me or Bella had was of much value.
     "To gather both of your scents".
     "Okay still not following. What person would want me and Bella's scent?"
Bella sighed and her eyes meant mine.
    "A new born vampire would".

This chapter is the first new part that I just started writing last week. I hope you guys enjoy this. Also there probably won't be another update until a week from today. A lot of art projects are due this week so that's where I'm spending my time.
