"Is everything okay?" I looked up from the trail as I made my way back to the Cullen's and my sister. Jake was now fully human in gray sleeveless sweatshirt and cargo shorts. I smiled up at him and nodded my head.
"Bella said that you went off to clear your head and sort through your thoughts". I nodded making my way to him.
"I did".
"Did you figure everything out?" he asked. I let out a sigh. Jake was not a fan of the Cullen's and I knew that all too well. I was still on the fence with them, but I honestly didn't hate them anymore. And I knew if I even brought up their name around him he'd get furious. For now I just wanted to forget all this and just be here with him.
"Yeah".
He stepped closer and took my hand in his.
"That's good. I was getting worried that you just ran off". He replied pulling me into his embrace. I wrapped my arms around his back and let out a big sigh.
"No". I chuckled. "I'm not going anywhere, Jake". I said reassuring him.
"And neither am I". He said pulling away and cupping my face with his hands. Then he brought his lips down to mine. I kissed him back as the buzzing in my pocket startled me.
"Charlie?"
I smiled and pulled out my phone.
"Charlie". I said as I took his hand and interlaced mine with his. "He must be wondering where I am. I kinda forgot to leave him a note this morning". Jake rolled his eyes and laughed.
"That would explain it then".
"That it would".
"Then I should probably get you home before he gets pissed". Jake said leading us to his small red car. I let out a sigh and glanced back at the field. A lot had happened to me mentally today and I was glad that it did. It was about damn time that I figured out this crazy life that I was now living.
"As much as id love to just spend the rest of the evening with you". I said getting in, "Your probably right. I rather Charlie stay happy then be anger at me all the time".
"That's for sure".

Several days had passed since the first training session and everyday I had spent out in the field with the Cullen's and the wolves, watching them ruthlessly train harder and harder everyday. Watching as they pushed themselves to their limits. Carefully trying to master Jasper's quick moves and following his orders. Jasper wasn't a half bad teacher and even Jacob agreed with me. Which had taken me by surprise.
Days since then had grown colder and colder, but I didn't mind it all that much. It beat the hot summer days of Arizona, plus I was a sucker for big bangy sweaters and combat boots. Two things that did not fit in with Arizona's weather. But worked perfectly here and that made me very happy.
However, as happy as I was for boots and sweaters, they couldn't mask the feeling of what was about to happen tomorrow. I had not slept at all last night and I could feel it. My eyes felt heavy and my body was aching, but I had to push all that pain away.
Today was the day that it all started. Tomorrow the newborn army was making its grand entrance into Forks and nothing could have prepared me for it. I was on edge all night and into the morning. I just wanted it to be all over, but it hadn't even started yet.
I let out a sigh of nerves and pulled my hood over my head as a knock sounded at the door. I jumped up from the couch and made my way to the door. Opening it a smile flooded my lips as my bf's big tan arms engulfed me.
"How are you not freezing, Jake". I said as Jake made his way into the house. He smiled and rolled his eyes.
"Radiating heat remember".
I smirked and closed the door behind him. "Oh I remember".
"So tomorrow's the day?"
Jake nodded his head and stepped closer to me. "Yeah".
I let out a sigh and grabbed his hands. "So, what's the plan then? Am I just going to have to sit here on my ass?"
Jake sighed and placed his hands on his hips. His whole body movements had changed. He seemed to be more tenses and nervous. Something was wrong.
"Alex".
I shook my head. "So I am going to just be sitting here on my ass". I couldn't believe this. I couldn't believe him. Jake was allowed to be in on all the action, but I wasn't? Jake was putting his life in danger and I was just supposed to sit around on edge? I didn't think so.
"No, but I wish you were". Jake stated softly.
"Why? If my sister can be involved then why can't-"
"Because I won't be there to protect you, Alex. I'll be down in the field fighting them off while you'll be on the mountains with Bella and...Edward. If something happens to you I won't be able to rush over to you". Jake explained to me raising his voice. I sighed and placed my hand on Jake's chest. Feeling my touch, I knew soothed his nerves a little.
"You are worried and scared, so am I, but I have faith in Edward. I know he'll keep me safe as well as Bella. You may not like him, but you know he cares about Bella and wouldn't do anything to upset her". I explained to Jake. Jake sighed loudly and pulled me close to him. I laid my head on his chest.
"I know, but the fact that I cant be there to protect you-"
"Jake, you promised me that you'd stay safe. Now its my turn to promise you that I'll stay safe". I promised him. Jake smiled and laid his forehead against mine.
"Promise?"
I nodded. "Promise".
"Then we better get going". Jake said pulling me to the door. Nearly falling on my face Jake pulled me out of my house and out into the world. Then he gestured to his red car parked in front of my house. Where the hell was he thinking of taking me? I raised my eyebrow at him crossing my arms over my chest.
"Where are we going?" I asked getting into his car.
"My place for a while, then I'm taking you to the campsite". Turing to face him he laughed. Was he seriously?
"Campsite?"
He nodded his head while leaving the driveway. I adjusted the hair coming out of my winter hat and twirled the two strings at the end with my fingers.
"Carlisle thought it be best to keep Charlie out of this. So you and Bella are camping out on the mountains tonight".
"But there's supposed to be a big snow storm tonight"
Jake grinned. "That's what I'm there for. To keep you nice and toasty warm". I rolled my eyes laying my head up against the window.
"And Bella?"
"Sam's cousin Connor just turned a few months ago and he doesn't mind the Cullen's so he offered to help keep Bella warm". Jake informed me. I nodded.
"Ed okay with this?"
Jake giggled. "As long as she's safe then I guess".
