Her face soaked in sweat, but still she looked incredibly beautiful, some of her curls escaped from her loosen bun, she decided to jog instead for a brisk walk only. There was a towel on her neck that she used in wiping the sweat off her face. She’s not the only one who jogged that morning in the seaside after spotting several couples who were jogging side by side.
After contenting herself, she decided to go back to her cottage, and expecting to see a pink rose again on her doorway, but she’s not yet giving up of knowing who’s doing it, and she knew sooner or later she could have that answer.
She heard footsteps following her, she’s few feet away from her cottage. She didn’t turn around for awhile until she reached the doorway, thinking that it might be that someone leaving her flowers. She picked up the pink rose before turning around for she sensed that somebody was still behind her.
Only to find Miller, who seemed been jogging too, frustration replaced her confused face. “Hey, you’re the one leaving me this?” And she flashed the flower right before his face.
“Uhm, why, don’t you like it?” She was silently wishing he would answer no, but his question to her was an obvious confirmation.
“No, I’m just not expecting that it’s you.”
“Who else anyway?”
“I don’t know.” She was in doubt. “Thanks anyway.”
“You’re always welcome.” Miller flashed her huge smile.
“And, don’t give me one again.”
“Why?”
“I mean, you can give me personally, but you don’t have to leave it on my doorway.”
“Okay, I’ll remember that. Gotta go now.”
“Sure.”
De Vonne entered her cottage with that pink rose on her hand, leaning her back on the wall while inspecting the flower carefully. She indeed didn’t expect that it’s Miller giving her roses, the one reason why she’s smiling every morning well except that morning. She was obviously disappointed, of all people why would it have to be Miller.
Did she need to give Miller a chance, but why not?
“So, you should be happy that you already found out who’s your avid admirer.”Savannahcommented later that day, they were in a bar again.
“I don’t know, I’m not, I was hoping it’s someone not him.”
“Oh, don’t you like Miller?”
“What do you mean?”
“Do you like him as a man?”
“Well, he’s handsome but I don’t like his attitude.” De Vonne commented pouting her lips.
“You do have a very unique standard for men, I gather.”
“Yeah you can say that, appearance is not important for me as long he can respect and love me for who I am not because I’m famous.” She answered melancholically.
“It must have been difficult for you, being famous and not knowing who truly loves you.”Savannah commented genuinely.
“But now, I already knew who really loves me and I’m grateful to have them around me though they’re not always there for me.”
“Of course, your family loves you and me too.”Savannah uttered sheepishly.
“Oh sweet.” De Vonne grinned despite of her sudden melancholic state.
