When he wakes up again Emory is by his side. He nudges her to get her attention and she smiles at him, stretching out in her chair. She leans in close to check his eyes, noting that the purple colour is still there. He is still a little bothered by the idea of purple eyes. He wants them to go back to the shade of dark blue he's always remembered.

He gets another check-up from McCoy, who still has nothing conclusive, even after some lab tests. Pavel asks if he can leave medbay, even if he's not on the bridge but McCoy frowns when he mentions it.

"I can't really let you go out when you're showing symptoms of something."

"Is it even a symptom though? Can't I just go back to my room and have a shower or something? What if I keep Emory around with me?"

"I'll give you two hours but absolutely anything abnormal happens and I want you to page me."

"Thank you," Pavel says softly, moving off the biobed and grinning to Emory.

"Two hours," McCoy reiterates, checking the time.

"See you then."

Pavel's glad to be out of medbay, even for just two hours. They head back to his room first, a little glad that Sulu isn't there. He's desperate to have a shower. Emory waits on his bed with her PADD in her hands and after ten minutes, he finally feels clean again. He spends a little time just looking at his eyes in the mirror. They're a nice shade but they're still not what he's used to. He dries his hair and puts some clean clothes on, trying not to think too much about his eyes. Emory calls out to check on him and he tells her that he's fine.

When he goes back into the kitchen Sulu's there and is complaining about the replicator in their room. It makes a few weird noises now and again and Sulu goes over to check on it. Pavel suddenly looks up and yells at him, telling him not to touch it. Sulu moves his hands back and the replicator sparks, Emory looking at Pavel in disbelief. The sparks start getting bigger and Pavel grabs his gloves from his room. He's fixed a similar problem a few times in engineering before but he doesn't notice that Sulu and Emory are not remotely concerned with the sparking.

"I fixed it," he says weakly, taking his gloves off.

"That was not normal," Sulu mutters, looking to Emory, who nods in agreement. "That had nothing to do with what you know about engineering or anything. I probably would have electrocuted myself if you didn't stop me."

"I... I just knew that you weren't supposed to touch it," he mutters.

"Can we please take you back to medbay?" Emory says. "Doctor McCoy said if anything abnormal happened... That was definitely not normal."

Pavel nods, knowing that there's no point in arguing. Sulu accompanies them, sharing Emory's unease. McCoy looks up as soon as he sees Pavel, concerned that he's back so early. He asks what happened, Emory says that he had a premonition.

"A premonition?" McCoy asks.

"Is that what we're calling it now?" Pavel mumbles, not entirely sure of the definition. Irina is hanging in the corridor and she comes over, trying to figure out what's happening. Pavel looks up and asks Irina if she knows the exact translation, which she does. He thanks her, wondering if he can see the future now.

"This really isn't good," McCoy says flatly. "I think we need you to undergo a psych evaluation."

"Psychic or psychological," Irina mutters, biting back the faintest hint of a smile.

McCoy goes to page another doctor and Sulu leaves Emory with Pavel. Irina doesn't hang around either. Emory asks Pavel if he's okay and he just nods. He wants to explain everything that's going on in his head but he doesn't know where to start. He can't explain either of the two incidents that he prevented. He didn't envision them happening or anything, he just acted without any kind of thought. Emory asks what he's thinking about and he looks over to her, unsure where to start.

"I just don't know how to explain what happened... With the light, I didn't even realise that I'd grabbed you until the light fell. I didn't picture the replicator sparking either. I just knew that Sulu had to pull his hand away. I didn't see anything, hear any voices telling me to do it or anything like that. I just... I knew."

Emory looks at him and takes her PADD from her bag, noting down a thought. Pavel asks for details but she doesn't give him any. She thinks she'll ask McCoy about it a little later when Pavel's not within hearing range. He takes her hand and squeezes it, wishing he could back onto the bridge for a while to clear his head. He doesn't want to be spending all his time in medbay, he wants to be able to work in engineering and spend time with Emory without Irina around.

Pavel falls asleep and wakes up with Irina waving a probe over his head.

"Emory?" He say weakly, sitting up.

"No, it's Irina," she mutters, slightly coldly. "I didn't mean to wake you, I'm checking your vitals."

"No, I didn't mean... I... Where is she? Shit, no, where is she?? This is important!"

Irina changes expression, asking if he wants to page her. He doesn't answer, getting up out of the bed and running out of medbay. Irina stares in disbelief for a solid second before realising she needs to run after him. She sprints down the corridor and spots him up ahead, trying to catch up. She wants to know how she knows where she is. He runs into a turbo lift and Irina makes it in just as the doors close, wheezing uncomfortably and looking up at him.

"What the hell Pavel? How do you even know where she is?"

Pavel isn't even looking at her and is completely unresponsive to her comments. She waves her hand in front of his face and he doesn't even blink.

"Your eyes, Pavel! They're-"

Before she can finish, he runs out the door and back down the hall, Irina swearing and pursuing after him. He finds her in the botany lab with Sulu and grabs both their arms, pulling them right out of the room. As soon as they're in the hallway the whole ship shakes and something goes off in the lab.

"What the fuck?" Sulu manages, staring in disbelief at the lab. "My plants!!"

"Was there anyone else in there??" Irina asks, her whole body feeling a little gelatinous.

"No, it was just us... But my plants, oh my god, all my plants."

"Pavel?" Emory asks, looking at him. He's staring at the ground and trying to understand why the room is spinning. He looks up and takes a step forwards, promptly collapsing.
