Chapter 28: You Did This?

September 28th

Mackenzie's POV: We are currently in my hospital room like it has been for the last few days. Since it is the third day in the hospital, Mom is asking the doctor outside my room if I can be cleared to leave the hospital. The others aren't here since they have work. So it is just Maddie, Maddie, and mom. My doctor and mom come back in.

Mackenzie: So is it good enough for me to be cleared?

Doctor: Unfortunately, we have to do check-ups tomorrow so you will have to be released one more day later  

Maddie: She does?

Doctor: Yes, but is that okay Mackenzie

Mackenzie: I guess so

*Johnny comes into the door*

Johnny: So are you ready to go back home?

Mackenzie: Well I can't, I have to wait till tomorrow

Johnny: Why?

Doctor: We have to hold up the final check-ups until tomorrow morning

Johnny: That's a shame

Doctor: Well thanks for taking the news well, I will see you tomorrow morning

Melissa: Thanks for the new doctor

*The doctor leaves the room*

Melissa: So are you guys okay now

Mackenzie: What do you mean?

Maddie: You were dating, are you okay with that

Johnny: Well like, yeah we are friends

Maddie: Nothing more?

Mackenzie: No

Johnny: I'm gonna get a snack from the vending machine

Maddie: I'll tag along with you I want a snack

*Johnny and Maddie go outside*

Maddie: So did Mackenzie give you a second chance?

Johnny: What are you talking about

Maddie: well you would only be here if she gave you a second chance, which she did that is why you are here.

Johnny: I'm here because I have a day of work

Maddie: Hmmm?

Johnny: Fine, she gave me a second chance

Maddie: That's what I like to hear

Johnny: She told me to set up a date for her, and then she will determine if we should try again.

Maddie: What are you gonna do for her?

Johnny: I thought she was gonna be cleared today so I was gonna take her out for dinner, but I don't know what I will do for her now

Maddie: You can set up a surprise dinner at the cafeteria, and it will be private

Johnny: Can we do that?

Maddie: Yeah, if mom and I talk to the staff, it will work. Come on we are the Zieglers and you are pretty well known now. I will work, don't worry mom and I will organize it, you just need to take her out.
