Things had been well for now with everyone. Frisk had confessed to her crimes on a private gathering for all Monsters. It took some time, but they forgave her. Chara was the first to do so, albeit visibly scared. They decided that if the very scapegoat could forgive her, then so could they. They were still wary, but some of the tension had cooled.
Speaking of the half-demon, she was free to visit Aida now to see if she could help the robot feel while Alphys tries to see if she could find the Soul. Frisk often tagged along, now no longer bothered if she got a little clingy.
Aida herself had been getting a good turn of events. Following Alphys' wedding to Undyne, in which the latter was the one to propose, she had been happy and filled with love for her mother and new step-mother. The lizard lady in question had also been doing more on her research, conducting a way to see if they could find Aida's Soul.
Due to how Frisk was able to save Chara, Alphys had come to a conclusion. It turned out, due to how she feared the Soul would go out, the scientist regularly had Aida let her Soul out so she could let more love flow from her into the Soul so it would be stabilized. Due to how long it went on, it didn't just make the Soul stable, it made it powerful. She found that the Soul was like a Boss Monster's; able to persist after death like a human's.
Like Chara's Soul, it's not lost, it's just hidden somewhere. Creating a machine, she has caught a signal of where it could be. Though faint, it was progress and Undyne and Mettaton have been helping her to track it down.
For the most part, everything had been settled. No RESET had occurred for a long time. Chara, Frisk, and Asriel had all reached highschool and yet they were still going on with no RESET. The Human Souls had finally gotten a hold of their Determination and were currently part of the Fifth Grade section, nearing their first Promenade.
"I've heard of twins, triplets, quadruplets, but never six children, all of the same mother and grade level, going to Prom" one teacher remarked.
Aida also went to school one day with them, in the same highschool level Chara, Frisk, and Asriel were in. When Alphys deemed it was safe for her to go, she had her enrolled. At first, they thought of grade school out of precaution that she may have to learn basics first. But it was proved wrong when she solved highschool level work.
"She gets it from her mommy" Undyne joked, nudging an embarrassed Alphys who was hiding her face in her hands.
She was capable of going to other schools with a higher degree of education but, due to the lack of a Soul, Alphys feared it would be better if she stayed with familiar friends to monitor her. She had been getting along pretty well, though she preferred to hide her robotic arms and legs with her long sleeves and knee-length socks. Lots of humans and Monsters just fell for her. She mostly stayed with the Dreemur Trio.
Actually, make that the Comic Trio. Yep, you heard that right. Sans and Toriel got married after a year since their confession. They were out in one of the MTT Resorts, more specifically where they held their first date. It was their First Anniversary. The kids were secretly following them in disguise. Then Sans knelt to the floor on one knee, and opened a small velvet box. Inside was a gold ring with a ruby.
"You are the promise I strived to keep. You are the best thing I've ever had since Papyrus. Toriel Korinna, will you be spine?"
Suffice is to say, she said yes while giggling from the pun.
It was also at that moment did they blow their cover. "YES! THE SHIP HAS REACHED THE SHORE!"
The marriage went smoothly. It was beautiful and elegant, but also had some simplicity upon Toriel's request. Papyrus was Sans' Best Man while Alphys was Toriel's Maid of Honor. Chara, Frisk, Aida, Chiwin, Amariah, and Jenna became the flower girls. Asriel was the ring bearer. Halfway through the ceremony, the kids were on guard. When the objection part took place, let's just say Chara had to pull Asgore out when he tried to speak up.
"But, Chara, you remember all those good times we had?" the goat man tried.
At first, she was about to hesitate when Frisk called out to her. "Chara, keep him out and you get you-know-what!"
The rest of that marriage went well. The happy couple soon moved in together in a new home. This one was bigger than their old ones. Sans had been working in the science industry alongside Alphys and Gaster so they were able to afford a bigger house. It took some talking, but the older skeleton finally let Papyrus live with Mettaton.
"Hardest part of my job is watching him grow up" he sighed.
The new house was huge. The Six Human Souls now had their own individual rooms. Chara and Frisk still stayed in the same one while Asriel had his own just beside them. Of course you know who had the Master Bedroom. There was a yard out too so the kids could have all the space they wanted.
Everyone else involved was doing fine for now. Gaster was working in the science industry with Alphys and Sans. It was nice to see that he had become part of the team and put his knowledge to use, advancing technology. He kept the house he and Chara lived in, often visiting the family or they visit him.
Asriel had been happy for everyone. Yet, as time passed, he couldn't help but feel a little envy. They all had someone whom they were inlove with or were even married to. He still saw Temmie when he detached the Soul and turned to Flowey, but that was different.
It didn't take long before it was noticed by the Comic family. Toriel, of course was concerned. Sans was surprisingly worried, but didn't show it too obviously. Wyatt and Jenna would often make fun of him before the rest of the Human Souls gave them a piece of their minds. Chara and Frisk would try to help.
"I'm not saying I'm ungrateful that I have my family and they know me as the real me but...seeing all of you guys right now, I can't help but feel so..." he couldn't say it.
"Left out?" Chara tried.
"Yep"
Frisk pat him on the shoulder. "Your time will come, my friend"
"It didn't take that long for you and my sister"
Chara abandoned the chocolate cupcake she was eating before heading over to her brother. "Well, Azzie, finding the right person isn't that easy. I hated humanity and was at the very edge when I felt something again with the very object of my hate. It took Frisk a long time before she finally fessed up to me, and she's the Flirt Master"
As if to emphasize the point, the human in question wrapped her arms around her from behind before nuzzling her neck.
She tried but failed to suppress her flower-fluster as a single buttercup became visible in her shirt collar. "But...there's no saying that there isn't any help around here for it. You just gotta try and see. I mean, you're the Prince of the Underground, who wouldn't want a date?"
"I mean an actual love, Chara"
"That's what I meant" she squeaked out as Frisk held her a bit tighter. "Though, you may need some practice to impress them. Things run a little different up here, especially in this era. I know a girl"
"Are you choosing for me?"
"No, I mean she could help you learn to court around here. At the same time, you can help her feel emotions"
He thought about it for a bit before agreeing. "Sounds good, when can I meet her?"
"She's at Alphys'"
That was when he realized who she meant. "Oh, well, I guess it's a fair trade. Thanks, Chara. I better give you and Flirt Master some private time" he teased before leaving.
Chara felt the buttercups come out again as her lover spooned her. She let out a squeak as she blushed furiously. Frisk smirked at her reactions. It was quite a sight seeing the blushing mess drop so many flowers to the floor.
"You know I love it when you begin to look like a garden" she whispered into her ear.
She could only try to keep herself from fainting.
