"Oh god, I'm so tired!" Rebecca exclaimed. She dropped the suitcases and bags from her grasp, stretching out her limbs.
I closed the door of our room behind me, putting the bags on the floor. Looking up at the room, I sighed. Finally.. true comfort. That stone cold cage thing wasn't comfortable at all, to say the least. Rebecca jumped onto her bed, hugging the duvet in her arms. I smiled at her.
"Yeah.." I said, pulling off my shoes. I sat them by the door. "I'm tired too." Standing up, I opened one of the suitcases and grabbed a spare change of clothes. "Hey."
Rebecca looked over at me, her feet swinging. "Yeah?"
"I'm gonna take a shower. You alright with being alone for now?" I asked, gesturing to the bathroom. She nodded. "Oh, great. I'll try not to take too long, so don't destroy anything."
Rebecca smiled. "Okay!"
I walked into the bathroom, locking the door close. When I was kept hostage, they only let me take a shower every other day. I probably smelled like stone and dirt. Putting my clothes on the toilet seat, I stood in front of the sink, facing the mirror. My hands held the sink in my grasp, and forest green eyes pierced into my soul as I stared at myself.
Back at the taxi, did Rebecca hear me say that I like her..?
My jaw clenched, and I felt my ears burning red from embarrassment. Jeez. I'm a complete idiot for saying it out loud. I should've just said no to the taxi driver. Sighing in exasperation, I stripped from my clothes and turned on the water of the shower. It was cold at first, but I didn't mind it as I stood underneath the shower head.
How long can we stay here?
I checked earlier in the taxi that Rebecca's mother and Xander added almost more than $500 into it. But it would depend on how far we are from Olivia's neighborhood. If we're really far, we should go tomorrow morning.
If not, we can stay here another day to get more accustomed and full of energy, especially after that stunt Rebecca's parents pulled. We could probably go around the city too and try out some of the food that people say is good.
Even though I felt as if only a minute passed by, my fingers were pruning up, and frothy bubbles were already washing down the drain. I turned off the water and grabbed a towel, drying my body and hair. I was about to change into my clothes, only to see that a note had been placed on the floor near the door. Did.. Rebecca slide the note from underneath the door? I grabbed it, reading the words.
I'm super hungry, and I bet you are too. So for now, I'm going downstairs to get us some food from begging the employees. Don't worry about me! I'll be back in like five minutes.
I didn't notice a smile perk up on my face until I saw the two hearts at the end of the note. My heart began pounding quickly. Don't overreact. That's just something she does. Do anything but overreact. I put the note down and changed into a new pair of clothes. Putting the towel back on the rack, I walked out of the bathroom. I looked up and saw another note on my bed. What could that possibly be for? Walking over, I picked it up.
A bunch of scribbles blocked out most of the words on the note, but the message seemed to resemble that of the note I got earlier. She made a rough draft to tell me she was getting food?? At the bottom of the note, the same thing was there. Two hearts marked that she had written it. To the left of the two hearts were three other words, but I couldn't distinguish them because of the rough scribbling over them.
She really didn't want me to read those words.
The door clicked open, and I heard Rebecca humming sweetly to herself. Turning around, she had a plate of delicious, steaming food. I almost drooled right then and there. Rebecca noticed that I had finished my shower and looked up at me, only to see the notes in my hands. Immediately, her face reddened, and she quickly walked over to me, putting the food down on the nightstand and grabbing the papers from me.
"D-Don't read the one with scribbles!" She stuttered out.
I stared down at her blankly, a little confused. "I already did..?"
The blush on her face thickened, and she covered the blush with her hands, squealing out of embarrassment. What could be so bad on that note that it makes her do that?? "Oh my god, no!!"
"What were you trying to say at the bottom?" I asked, curious.
Rebecca shook her head, crumbling the papers into paper balls. Her blush began spreading like an infectious disease. "N-Nothing!" She exclaimed quickly, pulling on strands of her hair nervously. "A-All that matters is that I got us food!"
I helped her sit down on my bed, grabbing the plate of food. "You only got one plate?" I questioned, grabbing one of the two forks on the plate.
Rebecca nodded, her blush slowly calming down. "They only let me get one, so I tried to get as much food as I could.."
"You take the first bite," I said, gesturing the plate to her as I held it.
She shook her head. "You go on. The guards probably gave you crappy food to eat, so you eat first."
I didn't protest, stabbing my fork into a small slice of Korean barbecue. Putting it in my mouth, I immediately began to salivate on it. Rebecca spun her fork on the spaghetti. A few minutes into eating, I couldn't help but just stare at her intently. She noticed, trying to ignore it. After finishing, she put her fork down and drank some water. I did the same, letting the plate lay on the nightstand. I noticed the bridge of her nose was dusted pink.
"W-Why are you staring at me?" She asked, stuttering in the beginning as she looked up at me.
I remained silent, not answering her question. Leaning over, my hand gently held the back of her head, and I placed my lips on hers. Rebecca didn't stop me, instead, kissing me back.
