I woke with a jolt, my eyes scanning my surroundings, looking at our sheet wall, hearing the quiet murmurs of neighbors around us. I then felt my warm blankets bring me back, as Daryl brought his arms around me pulling me tightly against his chest.
"Mornin'." Daryl said just as groggy as I felt.
"Get any sleep?" I asked.
"Yeah. You?" He asked curiously.
"It was one of those sleeps when you fall asleep, then like five seconds later it's morning." I groaned." I wanna stay in bed all day."
"Well I think Scout's ready to get out of here." Daryl said making me look over at our sheet door, Scout looking at us annoyed.
"You wanna go anywhere I suggest you wipe that look off your face." I said just as annoyed with him.
"Sorry, I'm just ready to go, and you guys are still in bed." Scout whined.
"Alright, where're you going, and who are you going to be with?" Daryl knew the drill.
"I'm going to be with Charlie, who's with John and June, but I don't know where they'll be going." Scout shrugged.
"What's today?" I asked turning over to look at Daryl.
"Thursday I think?" Daryl answered me.
"There's a run today, shit." I jumped out of bed." Go ahead and go, just check in every once in awhile." I ordered Scout.
"Okay mom." Scout rolled his eyes.
"Hey." I snapped my fingers at him." I love you."
"Love you too mom." Scout grumbled, Daryl cleared his throat." Love you too dad."
"Love ya bud." Daryl called after him as he left." I remember when he used to call me Mr. Daryl-Dad." He said reminiscent.
"Yeah he's growing up." I sighed. I dug through my box of clothes trying to find something to wear until I finally settled on my cleanest clothes.
"You sure about going out?" Daryl asked, now out of bed getting changed too.
"Yeah, I'll be with Morgan, Victor, and Alicia, I'll be perfectly safe, trust me." I smirked putting my boots on.
"Well don't take any risks, be alert, and anything seems sketchy, say something, you know the speech." Daryl rolled his eyes tired of hearing the speech himself.
"Don't worry baby, I'll be fine, you going to be here waiting for me when I get back?" I said now pressed up against him.
"Of course." He smiled wrapping his arms around my waist kissing me sweetly.
"Gotta go, I'm running late." I exited our sheet home, looking out at the warehouse we called home that was filled with other sheet homes, and neighbors walking around. We had been here at least a year now, maybe, a little longer, but we enjoyed it here, even though Daryl was still having a hard time opening up.
"Hey, Hazel, what's the hold up?" Alicia called from the hallway.
"I over slept, sorry." I jogged over to her.
"Next time we'll leave your ass." She said jokingly. We made our way down the hallway into the loading dock." We're packed up and ready, just waiting for you." Alicia passed me my belt and other weapons.
