Chapter 5

Luke's POV:

"And how excatly is it hard to believe?" I said with an annoyed tone.

Ava just pointed at my hair and looked at me with bored eyes.

"Hey, just because my hair is in this shape, does not mean that my actual form is as well!" I rolled my eyes.

Who does this girl think she is? Queen bee?

(A/N: *wink wink nudge nudge*)

"Pft, I believe you," she shrugs.

"Really? I thought you were the same as Imogen," I say.

"Nah, I'm not that mean."

For 10 minutes there was no chat between us. I suddenly felt a pang in my chest and it hurt. I jumped and started breathing heavily.

"Hey, are you okay?" Ava looked at ne worryingly.

"I'm fi-"

That's when I fainted.

(A/N: OOPS *SHRUGS*)

Ava's POV:

He suddenly stopped and held his head, I asked him if he was alright then he suddenly passed out.

"Yeesh, what happened here?" I scratched my head, looking at his body on the ground.

It probably looks like I killed him to humans.

"Alright," I shot a recovery spell at him and he instantly awoke.

"What happened?" he asked.

I scanned for what was wrong. It seems that since Tana done that to Imogen, Luke's power is decreasing. Not energy, his magic. It's starting to leave him. Soon there'll be nothing left but a confused human boy who doesn't know what's going on, called Luke.

If I tell him he'll get mad and go back; it's Imogen who's taking it, he's taking his magic to keep herself strong and she doesn't even know that she's doing it. She just is aware that she's feeling the weak part of herslef lift off of her shoulders slowly and she is becoming stronger, but she doesn't know that it's because she's draning Luke.

"What?" he pressed.

"N-nothing, j-just, let's k-keep g-going," I pointed to the house, it was in view.

He tried to talk again but I stopped him.

"Look, it's right there, race ya!" I started running.

He got there first, and to be honest that was a mistake. I could see that he only had a bit of his powers left in him. You see, with demons, if their magic gets drained they still have their memories and they created that human body, so when demons do get drained they just lose their demon form and their magic, but they still remember that they used to be a demon, they remember what they done in the past, because they created that human form of theirs.

While guardians, on the other hand... Guardians steal human bodies, when Luke Hilton was born, that guardian was born into it, so basically if Luke get's drained, he's gone, forever. Turned to ash, nothing. What's left is a human boy, who knows nothing about magic, he doesn't remember anything.

"Don't!" I shouted, but he already entered.

He came straight back out and it happened.

He was drained completely.

What was worse is that I couldn't go after him myself because Tana came straight out of the house, grinning like a maniac.

"Imogen made a mistake," she sang, going back into the house and made a shield around it.
