----------BACK IN COURT WITH LAWYER AMY AND PATRICK AS A JUDGE-----------
The trial had been going on for an hour and Patrick was more interested than ever. Lawyer Amy had been convincing, yet the person fighting against had good points as well. He was curious to see what the jurys would say. He was snatched back to reality when he heard clapping.
"The jurys will now have a few minutes to discuss what their final desicision. Please remain quiet," he hit the hammer twice again, signalling for everyone to quieten down their conversations.
After 5 minutes, the jurys turned around in their chairs and scooted over on their wheels to Patrick's desk.
"We think he should go to jail," one of them said.
"Why?" Patrick asked, knowing they needed to give a valid reason.
"First of all, the person against is right. He went into Xherikia mode-" he was cut off by Patrick abruptly standing up.
"ORDER!" he screamed, hitting the hammer once very violently against the hitting thingy, making everyone fall silent.
He sighed, sitting down.
"None of you know anything," he stated. "Xherikia has had a horrible past. She shouldn't be used as an example of a mass murderer, she has her own reasons, same with Andrew here. I'm going to say something that I'll probably get in trouble for saying, which is... I used to be friends with her."
There was a loud gasp and mutters and whispers started in the crowd. He gripped the hammer tightly, but didn't hit it. Patrick felt his eyes water, and it was as if all of Xherikia's struggles and suffering had hit him, like a tidal wave. He cleared his throat, making everyone quieten down once more.
"I used to live with her. In the same household. She's not bad, actually, she's a very good person," his voice was soft and delicate as he spoke.
"She's a murderer!" someone shouted in the crowd.
"No, she isn't. She's one of the greatest people I have ever goddamn known. She done it all out of a broken heart. I know that," he stopped looking down and looked straight at Andrew. "What did you do it out of? Anger? Sadness? Heartbreak? All of them are acceptable. Because they're all emotions, and since all of you are demons, and are supposed to be demonic and evil, it's as if you don't have emotions. But you do.
Case dismissed. Andrew gets 3 months in jail, but not Heaven torture. He must be fed good and have quite good conditions, but not too good. Killing is not acceptable, but emotions are."
He walked away, out of the room, and slammed the door behind him.
---------------------BACK INSIDE THE HOUSE-----------------------
Ava stood still, shocked at what she had just heard. Silence echoed throughout the house.
"Luke loves you?" Imogen spluttered out, her shocked moment beyond over.
"I don't know," Alex replied, completely frustrated. "All I know is that he hugged me, as if he loved me. That's what it felt like."
"You do know that Ava and him are a-"
"Yes I know that! That's why I told him that and he ran upstairs," she explained.
Ava tiptoed past the open door and then bolted up the stairs, arriving in front of Luke's bedroom door in seconds. She didn't know what made her stop with her fist ready to knock on the door and to demand what was going on. Her broken heart was more sad than angry and she couldn't be angry over sad towards him. Thoughts flooded her mind like a huge wave, and as she thought deeper, her fist unwrapped into a relaxed hand and dropped by her side. Her head hung low and tears began to drop.
