"Good job," he smirked at them.

"What's next?" Patrick asked in a monotone voice.

"We go into the Universe. Having conquered Heaven and Hell, this must be easy," he said.

"The gates are heavily guarded, it won't be easy to get past," Amandeep reported.

"Oh no, it'll be easy as pie," he snapped his fingers, "the only thing we need to worry about is her."

"Who?" Shaan asked.

"The one who is able to cast The Forbidden Spell. She is inside the Universe. As soon as we go inside, we need to find her and crush her," he ordered.

"Yes sir," they chorused.

"Now let's see what you're really made of," he muttered, smiling as he sent his minions to the gates.

"What's wrong?" the elder placed a hand in hers, a worried look in her eyes.

She instantly removed her hand.

"Nothing, I'm fine," she mumbled in response, looking away.

"Eat your dinner," her Dad ordered.

She shoved her plate away.

"I'm fine," she said, getting up. "I'm going to sleep, I'm really tired."

The family sighed as the girl made her way upstairs, unable to stop her. She took her phone which was now fully charged and jumped onto her bed, throwing the covers over herself. Scrolling through her Instagram feed, she saw nothing interesting and decided to just set her alarm and stare at the ceiling, drowning herself in her own thoughts.

"Vampires are real."

"What?" they all said at the same time.

"There are myths and theories that are so believable, so I guess I started believing in them because of that," I shrugged, my face heating up as I realized how weird I sounded.

They all seemed to let out a relieved sigh, which made my embarresment carefully shape itself into confusion.

"Have you ever seen one?" Sharon asked me out of the blue.

I felt a tad uncomfortable under their intense gaze, waiting impatiently for my answer.

"Uh… You wouldn't believe me if I did," I replied quietly.

"But have you?" Imogen pushed.

"Uh," I scratched the back of my head. "Yes."

The atmosphere suddenly turned eerie. They all stared at me as if they were analyzing me, so I shifted a bit in my seat, fidgeting with my hands.

"Tell us about it," Eva said softly.

"Um, o-okay,' I stammered. "I was walking home from school, I think last week, and since it's Autumn, and my house is pretty far, sunset just started. I decided to wander around a bit, look around in parks, climb some trees. By the time I wanted to head home it was nearly 8pm, and the sun was long gone. The moon was out and it was very dark.

I had gone pretty far from my home, around a 1 hour walk away. I started heading back when I arrived at a big field, with dying crops. Since Summer just ended the crops were high, up until my waist, but fading colour. At some point I felt something whizz past me, the way a Vampire does.

And when I looked up I saw these figures in the distance, when they opened their eyes they were red like rubies and glinting in the moonlight. For some reason I felt like I couldn't move. Not because I was in shock or anything, but as if they were controlling me. Strangely, I wasn't that scared as I should've been.
