Chapter 9

Alex's POV:

The one emotion that a demon was never meant to feel.

Fear.

"Alex are you okay?" I looked up to Eva's worrying eyes, when I noticed that I had started shaking.

"Yeah, I am, I don't know why..." I drifted off.

"Why what?" she asked.

"I just," I sighed," don't know anymore. So many things have happened in only one day, it's hard to take in."

"Awww, come here," she pulled me into a hug," well, we're demons, we're used to being Evil, and today we're on the good side, it's hard for all of us."

"I'm not used to it. I'm not used to being Evil, I'm not used to anything anymore, sometimes I wish I was just part of the human race," I sighed again," being a magical creature is just way too dramatic."

"I know, sometimes I wish that too, but Alex listen here," she pulled away from me, and holding my shoulders she made complete eye contact with me," it's a gift. We were born with the ability to be able to magic fire and live in degrees higher than the Universe could ever muster.

 We have our own demon forms! If your wish of becoming human comes true you will definitely struggle, because we're used to magic being there, we're used to the things being already there for us. 

You won't have magic and you won't have a demon form, you won't have things provided for you, you'll have to work for this thing called money and buy food and drinks."

"Not true," Tana came out of nowhere.

"You really need to stop popping up," Eva said.

"I will carry on you can't stop me," she rolled her eyes before turning to me,

" you'll get put into a care-home and you'll be living with other human children who don't have parents. There's this thing called fostering and adopting. 

Fostering is when a couple, a man and woman who don't have any children, take you to experience what it's like in their home only for a while, then you decide whether you want to stay there permanently or not.

 If they really want you as their child, they'll provide you with anything you want, just to bribe you and make you happy; anyway, if you decide to stay with them permanently, that turns into adoption, where that is when you're taken by a couple to be their child permanently, forever. 

They provide you everything until the age of 18, which in demon age, is 630 years old. That's when you go to this school called University and you're provided a dorm, where you live in while you're being taught in that school, which, if you want a normal job, minimum 2 years.

You still will pay with that thing called money, a lot of it to stay in the University. 97% of parents pay it for their child, and I have a guarantee that they'll pay for yours. Once you've finished University, you get a job and buy a house with the money that you get from the job. 

You can buy a car if you want, so you can go around driving to places to buy things or to drive to work. But you can't just carry money around, you get this tiny little card that it called a credit card. 

You also get this thing called a 'bank account', that's where all your money goes when you earn it. If you find cash machines in your neighbourhood area then you can put your credit card in, enter your PIN, which is a password for it so nobody can get it if they steal it, and take out some money from the machine which is basically connected to your account. 

You can get this card called 'con tactless' where you can pay in shops by just pressing it against the card scanner, but that'll only allow up to £30.
