Chapter 20

~Previously on Forever & Always~

I felt my mind return to the present time. I looked down at the ring in my hand. I remembered something. That was not from any of my recent memories those where from my past. I remembered something. I finally remembered something. I smiled to myself. I slowly slid the ring onto finger. I was suddenly struck by a huge force and thrown to the ground.

"KRISTY."

Harry's POV

"How's Kristy's heart rate?" I asked AJ as I continued to look over Niall's body. 

"Steady." 

"Any new development?" I asked her as I turned towards Kristy's hospital bed. 

"Um.......huh, her heart rate jumped up 20 points about 5 minutes ago." I walked over to the heart monitor taking a closer look at it.

"That's quite a jump considering she has had the same heart rate for the past few days."  

"We will need to continue to monitor her heart rate a little closer for the next couple of hours." AJ nodded her head writing my instructions down on Kristy's chart.

"How's he doing?" She asked me. 

"Hanging in there. It's just hard having to see him like this" 

"Hard because you're his doctor or hard because you're his friend?" AJ sat down next to me. 

"Both. Having to watch as your patient doesn't get better and watching as one of your closest friends slowly dies." AJ began to rub comforting circles on my back. 

"How long do you think he has?" 

"Less then 3 days." 

"Do you think they will make it?" AJ asked me

"I don't know. I don't know." 

Niall's POV

"Niall, Niall." I slowly opened my eyes blinded by the bright light surrounding me.

"You sure took your sweet time." I heard someone tell me. I sat up and looked around trying to find the source. 

"Over here." 

"Wah.....Where am I?" I asked still trying to adjust to my new surroundings. 

"Well look who finally woke up." 

"Where am I?" I asked again still unsure of my surroundings.

"Ughh, you already asked that." The voice told me.

"Who are you?" I asked trying to locate the voice.

"Wow, i'm hurt."

"You really don't recognize me?" I saw a figure walking towards me.

"No." I told the voice sitting up.

"I'm your worst nightmare." I gasped as the figure finally came into the light.

"What are you?"  I asked him.

"I'm you, dummy." He told me.

"Well the worst part of you. The one our precious little mate killed." He told me.

"No. That's not possible. You're dead." I told him.

"Yeah and so are you." 

"WHAT?" I yelled. 

"Well almost." 

"What do you mean almost?" I asked ghost Niall.

"You're in a coma. Dying by the second." The demon pointed to a mirror and I saw myself lying in a hospital bed unconscious.

"What happened?" I asked him.

"Well long story short. You kissed Kristy, she passed out, then you feel unconscious. And now you're here." Ghost Niall explained to me.

"Kristy is she alright?" I asked concerned for my mate.

"Ugh, do I need to explain everything or are you going to use that big brain of yours to figure it out." He told me rolling his eyes.

"The bond." I said.

"Bingo." 

"A mates bond can affect both parties. If one becomes ill the other will be affected. She's dying." I whispered that last part.

"I have to wake up. I have to save her." I told the demon.

"Slow down will you, you're giving me a headache." He told me.

"Come on, wake up, wake up." I mumbled to myself, pinching my arm trying to find away to wake myself up.

"Yep pinching yourself will totally wake you up from a coma." Ghost Niall made fun of me.

"Why can't I wake up?" I said getting frustrated.

"You're weak. Your strength is very low. Look in the mirror. You see that glowing thing?" 

"Yeah." I answered him staring at the mirror.

"That's how much strength you have left. Once that hits zero, there is no waking up." He explained to me..

"So I am stuck here.....forever?" I asked sinking to my knees.

"Looks like it." I was really starting to hate dead Niall.

"No."

"What do you mean no?" He asked me.

"No, I refuse to give up. I will wake up. I know it."

"And how do you think that's going to happen?" He asked me.

"I don't know."
