And now I bring you, Clubs.
In the words of Angelica Schuyler,
RewindThird Person
Clubs didn't consider himself a complicated dude. Just in a complicated situation, that was all.A demon with a human as his best friend, and apart of a ghoul hunting show, when he himself, was one. No, it wasn't intentional at first, it just kinda... Happened. He let it happen.
Clubs preferred being in a human form. He wasn't into the whole 'Fire and brimstone' thing down below, he kinda shrugged that stuff off. Instead, the human realm was much more interesting. So full of life, food, nature, food and- Okay, maybe he just really liked eating. It was all just so good!
Making friends with Diamond wasn't on his plans, but after he visited a "Haunted" place and found him freaking out before even entering, it was like everything else in his life. It happened, and Clubs let it. He comforted the poor man and got some company to go with him into it.
Diamond had blabbed about lore of the place half the time and nearly screamed a few dozen times for the rest of the time. Clubs just laughed, some of the 'Cold spots' were really the wind, but he noticed something peculiar. There was one ghost- a woman in a wedding dress with a nasty gash on her neck- and she seemed gravitated towards Diamond.
Fear. It clicked in his mind as he watched Diamond jump when she touched his shoulder. Ghouls could feed off of fear, and both Clubs and the woman were having a field day with Diamond around.
Maybe it was because he had been in a human form in the human realm for much too long, but Clubs felt a strange pity for the believer.
He threw his arm around Diamond suddenly and laughed. "You look like you've seen a ghost, D! Which is impossible because they're not real."
Clubs could feel the fear shift as Diamond grew defensive. "Wha- oh come on! You're telling me you don't feel that?"
"It's just the wind."
"Just the-! You-! Why are you even here if you don't believe in ghosts?"
Clubs gave a wink, and silently breathed in relief as the ghost lost interest with the lack of fear and retreated, phasing through the walls. "Why not? Kinda fun. Nice place, don't you think?"
Diamond paused before snickering half to himself. "You're telling me you come here just for kicks? You're insane!"
"You know it." Clubs laughed, slowly leading him towards the exit. "Here, you hungry? This place is a bore. I'll buy dinner, and you can try and convince me that ghosts are real. Fun for the whole family!"
Diamond snickered again and agreed. That night, he ranted on and on about evidence and proof and Clubs listened to every word. He couldn't help but cut in and tease that some evidence wasn't valid. Even if he knew they were real, seeing the believer get riled up was more entertaining then anything else he ever experienced.
Then came the matter of seeing him again. And again. And again.
It wasn't on purpose the first time, they just happened to visit the same place, but the second time it was. Clubs couldn't let the guy freak out on his own as ghosts fed on him mercilessly, so he followed him. Helped him loosen up while exploring and trying to communicate with ghosts. The third, Diamond invited him, insisting he was going to get him proof that ghosts were real.
It became a regular thing, until eventually, Diamond mentioned wanting to start a paranormal investigation show, and Clubs found himself agreeing to it.
