Third Person
Tanith watched in amazement as both KrakenKid and Cody worked together, pouring over the details of their new project. Given, they were fighting a lot, but the progress they made already was astonishing considering."What are you two up to?" She asked, slithering over and peeking at the table both were working on. Several papers with various writing was scattered all around. "Haven't seen you two cooperate with one another since... Ever really."
"Selena's birthday is next month." Cody explained, briefly taking his brown eyes off the papers in front of him. "Since she's both of our friends, we agreed to work on it."
"Next month?" Tanith blinked in surprise. "Aren't you early then?"
"Somebody wanted a head start." The Tide Changer grumbled, yellow eyes glaring at Cody. "We just had to be early. It's a real pain if you ask me."
"Not as big of a pain as you." Cody returned the look, baring his teeth before scribbling down more notes. "I like to plan ahead, allows me more time to get the cake ordered, stock up on food, figure out what date works best-it's just easier!"
KrakenKid rolled his eyes, now starting to sketch what looked like himself stabbing Cody on one of the papers.
Tanith held in a laugh, her tail flickering from side to side. Cody paused in the middle of his writing, then looked up. "Speaking of, Tanith! I don't actually know your birthday, when is it?"
Tanith hesitated, thinking back in her head, then glancing at the two of them. "What day is it again?"
"June 28th." KrakenKid responded without looking up. He had started to become engrossed with his drawing.
Cody took one look at what he was doing and scoffed. "Really?" KrakenKid didn't respond, just smirking.
The hybrid nodded to herself. "Huh..."
"What?" Cody asked, gathering some of his notes together.
"It's today."
Both the kraken and the penguin whipped around to her, jaw dropping. "WHAT?" They shrieked in unison.
Tanith blinked. "What? It's just my 1,104th birthday, not really important."
"Wha- what do you meant it's not IMPORTANT?" The Tide Changer yowled, mind reeling. How is she so calm about this?
"Because it's just 1,104?" Tanith arched her eyebrows like it was obvious. It took her a moment, but then it clicked in her head. "Oh right, you guys celebrated every birthday, don't you?"
"Well of course! I'm certainly not skipping out on the best day of the year." Cody responded, running a hand through his top feathers. "You don't?"
Tanith shook her head, shrugging. "We celebrate every 5th birthday. We live so long that doing it every year is just a hassle. Some villages even do every 10th or 15th, though 5th is pretty standard."
A long silence passed between the three of them as they stared at her. "What?" The medic tilted her head to the side.
She nearly jumped when they started scrambling around, yelling things at each other and grabbing for their phones. "Whoa! What's going on?"
"WE GOTTA THROW YOU A BIRTHDAY, THAT'S WHAT!" Cody screamed, starting a group text with nearly everyone in his contacts list.
"Does it really matter that much?" Her tail flickered back and forth, now in confusion.
"YES!" KrakenKid shouted, starting to look up cake places. He glanced up, then slowed down when he noticed her puzzled looks. Sighing, the kraken walked over and grabbed her shoulders.
"I know you're used to doing it every 5th year, but you're in Atlantis now. We like to celebrate every year, regardless of how long you live. You're gonna have to put up with us doing this, okay?"
Tanith was silent for a moment, but then grinned in the end. "Okay, I'll let you two do what you need to do. Just make sure you get some salmon for the celebration! The kind from-!"
"The restaurant across from the museum, yes I remember." The kraken smiled back, letting go. "Get ready for a entirely new birthday party, we're probably a lot different from what you're used to."
He waved and took off. Tanith smiled softly. "You guys are the best." She mumbled to herself, then took out her phone and looked up what to expect from this new type of party.
*********************
Since I don't remember when exactly I created Tanith, a long time ago I decided her birthday would be June 28th, and then this morning, Iceshard1011 reminded me of this fact and I wanted to do something! So happy birthday to my OC Tanith! Been a year or two? I actually forgot, I'll have to look up when I published Sea Serpent and compare, but that's my gal!
I didn't know when I first made her that she'd turn into a multilingual, hybrid, stubborn, cultured and colorful gal she is now, big that's what happened!
Here are some facts I don't know if I've ever shared!
- Tanith eats pretty much about anything due to getting used to living off of war rations, though favors salmon above all- Tanith is cannonly Demisexual, basically meaning she doesn't care much about the gender of the person, but rather needs to know and have a bond with a person before falling in love.
- Her hometown is a village in the ocean right next to a tropical island named Villa Cocoes, meaning the Coconut Village, given their main crop is coconuts
- Sometimes gets a bit of an accent when speaking Latin, given her native people speak much differently than the people of Atlantis do.
- She left home at an age equivalent of 17 for humans, meaning she was technically underage when she ran away
- Tanith grew up in a higher class, and her parents were quite popular people, throwing many social gatherings at their house.
- Tanith's father ran a successful trading business and Tanith was expected to take over the company once she got older. She was training to do it and got quite good at it too, though obviously left before she could.
- Tanith is in love with learning about other cultures. She finds them fascinating and downright loves them.
And that's what I got so far! Hopefully you liked this, and be sure to comment what you think! Goodbye!
