This will be an emportant part to runners, or gym users. Basically anybody who uses gym shoes will wish to read this. Most pertains to runners, but these are good tips for everyone. Do not follow these with your usual shoes.
First, by them a half size too big for your foot. No, this is not growing room. This little bit of extra space is good for your foot to slip around a little more freely in. This will cause your foot to be more comfortable and less likely to get more blisters. This is how many athletes loose toe nails. Their shoes are the right size and so they bump all the edges.
Secondly -this is more for people who get blisters or are going to have a lot of sweat or be out in mud and water- wear two pairs of socks. Yes, it's wierd, but I wear two pairs of my sporting socks every single time I go to work out. Instead of your sock rubbing against your shoe -the motion causeing pain and blisters- they rub against the other sock. Plus, on rainy or nasty days, your feet will stay drier and warmer.
Thirdly, make sure they are truely something you like and are comfortable with. They need to be nice feeling on your feet and make you feel more up beat. You need something you like. When you're in a workout that you don't want to complete, look down. Getting these nice and new shoes is a reward you have to work for. Make yourself earn your new shoes.
Always get new ones for each year. They wear down a lot more than you think. I know, you may be thinking "are you insane? My shoes cost eighty bucks a piece" don't worry. You don't actually have to have shoes from actual shoes or sporting stores. Yes, those places are a nice way to go and treat yourself, but honeslty a lot of the best athletic shoes and clothes can be found sheply at walmart. They have the same brands cheaper.
Before a workout -this is an obvious one- tighten your laces all the way. I'm saying loosen the top and pull all the way from the toe of the shoe so they are comfortably tight. Don't choke your foot, but don't give the shoes wiggle room. It's so bad.
