When Riku and Mayonaka both stepped out of the Corridor of Darkness, they saw they were back at Master Yen Sid's tower. Kurayami was still in Riku's arms as she looked pale, but was breathing fine.
"About time we got out of that world." Mayonaka said.
"Yeah, I can't imagine what would happen if we stayed there any longer." Riku said.
"Good thing we got out just in time.." Mayonaka muttered. "Well, come on. We should take Kurayami into Yen Sid and see if he can heal her."
"Right." They both made their way inside the tower as they went up the stairs. While doing that, Riku decided he wanted to know more about who Mayonaka really was, but he didn't want to sound suspicious, so he started off slowly.
"So Mayonaka, just out of curiosity. When you were set free from Kurayami's heart, did you live in The World That Never Was?"
"I basically lived in an old abandoned building there. It wasn't exactly what I called home, but it was the only thing I had." She explained. "Which is funny, because I'm starting to miss that place."
"How did you find that place?" Riku asked as they made it to the second room.
"As you saw, I have the power over Darkness, but I also have power over Light. I'm part of the Light...yet i'm part of the Darkness. Hell, You could say i'm Darkness itself." She said. "But if you want the literal answer, I don't exactly know how to explain it. But the moment I was freed from Kurayami's heart...her darkness just...became my own."
"What do you mean?" Riku asked. Mayonaka stopped walking and Riku stopped a few inches away from her. She looked away as she crossed her arms.
"You see...I'm the Darkness in her heart, taking form of what she wishes." Mayonaka looked at her hands. "My face, my personality, my heart...it doesn't belong to me. It belongs to Kurayami. I'm grateful for the fact that if she didn't set me free in the first place...none of this would be happening. Meeting you, saving Kurayami before it was too late, everything wouldn't be happening.."
Tears formed in her eyes as she grit her teeth.
"But...that damn Organization.." Her hands clenched into fists. "They took my friends away from me. HE took my friend away from me!"
"Organization XII.." Riku muttered. "So they're back then."
"Not exactly." She said. "If anything, you should be angry at the person who's back."
"Wait, you don't mean.." Riku's eyes widened as Mayonaka nodded her head.
"The old man himself...Xehanort." She said. Riku took a few steps back in fear. He never expected to hear these news come out of Mayonaka's mouth.
"H-How...?" Riku asked with anger, yet fear in his voice.
"You didn't figure it out after a few decades? Xehanort's an...Immortal Darkness. He can't be killed, he can't be reasoned with, he can't change, and he won't rest...until humanity crumbles at his feet."
"How do you know this?" Riku glared. Mayonaka looked away.
"Because...I was part of the Organization." She said quickly, but Riku managed to catch every word. "When I heard about them, I left my so-called 'home' and joined it. I...I was with my friends in the Organization too. That's where we all met. I joined the Organization, because I wanted power. Power over all Darkness. I even managed to hurt Emileigh and the others...and I didn't use Kurayami that time.."
