Chapter 37: A Broken Family

"So...Xelhmigei's gone?"

"...No. I can sense her...but I dunno where she is. She's nowhere near us."

Emileigh explained to everyone about the fight she had with Xelhmigei as they all found themselves in a completely different area. Strange thing was...there weren't any worn out keyblades in the ground. Regardless, they still had to keep going.

"Another thing was, she called me 'sister'." Emileigh continued the explanation. "I mean, We barely see each other since we're enemies, but it just feels...weird."

"But you call me your sister. How is that weirder than your heartless?" Yami remarked as she crossed her arms.

"I...ugh, I dunno!" She said as she put her hands behind her head. "I never thought that...she would call me her sister."

"What you see is what you get, I guess." Takeo shrugged. "Still...It's kinda strange that she said 'another life'."

"Yeah.." Emileigh muttered. "But hey! I'll figure it out sooner or later!" All of a sudden, the ground started shaking as everyone struggled to keep there balance.

"What's going on?!" Sora asked as he looked around. Emileigh turned around, and she gasped seeing multiple walls start to form.

"LOOK OUT!" Emileigh put her hand on her chest, and a bright light shrouded everyobe as they tried to shield their eyes from it.

Emileigh winced as she blinked her eyes open. When she did, she noticed walls were all around her, and she was alone.

"Takeo! Guys! Are you there?!" She called out to them for an answer.

"What did you do, Emileigh?!" She heard Sienna speak.

"We're fine, Em!" Emileigh heard Takeo speak. "Is everyone okay?!"

"Surviving!" Riku said. "Who's with who?! I'm with Kairi and Sora!"

"I'm with Sienna!" Takeo said.

"Mayonaka, and Sekara!" Vanitas said.

"I am with Yami and Burn!" Kurayami said. "So, that must mean.."

"Em! You're alone over there, are you?!" Sora asked.

"Looks like it! Sorry about that!" She said nervously.

"Do you see a way towards us?" Yami asked. Emileigh tried to run up the wall, but it was too steep. She tried to climb it, but her hands kept slipping from the dust and gravel from them. She looked behind herself, and saw a small pathway.

"No! But there's a path! We're gonna have to keep moving somewhere until we find each other. Just follow the paths!" She said.

"Be careful, Em!" Takeo said concerned.

"Thanks! You and the others be careful too!" She turned towards the path, and she sighed.

"Okaaay...let's see where this leads." She started to run down the paths.

'Geez. I really need to get used to that power. I...I just can't believe I'm technically Kingdom Hearts. Wait...if I am the Child of Kingdom Hearts, does that mean Dianna and he... adopted me? Is he even still alive?

No...s-stop thinking that, Em! You know mom's alive, and dad could be too. But I can't shake the feeling...my entire life has been a lie. My childhood, my homelife... my memories. Is any of that real...or not? *sigh*...I just hope I can figure this out soon. I have to know about my past...I NEED to know about my past.

Sora...Yami...Kura...Burn...Takeo...everyone...I promise. I WILL end this fight one way or another. I won't let anyone else suffer because of Xehanort. He messes with my friends...he messes with me. I'll put an end to this nightmare, even if it means...

...Sacrificing my whole life for it...or my memories..

Emileigh sighed as she sat against the wall as she had her hand on her chest. She's been walking endlessly in loneliness...she's getting tired of it. She feels like...she's worthless when she's alone. Not worth to fight...and not worth to kill.

"You've always been the cocky one...now look at you." Emileigh quickly looked up, and saw a figure in a black Organization XII cloak, standing five feet in front of her. She quickly stood up, and got into a defensive stance.

"Who are you?" She asked suspiciously. The figure only snickered as he looked up at the sky.

"...We used to tease each other all the time...but t looks like you've grown up." They said. "After all...it hurts not knowing who your family is...the person who helped you...spent time with."

Emileigh took a moment to think about who's voice it was...and she gasped as her eyes widened.

"No...It can't be.." She zaid.
said. The figure took their good off, and it was a man with red velvet hair as he had golden ember eyes. He had a slight scar on his right cheek as his skin was a little dark. He looked a lot like Burn.

"...D-Dad...?" She fell to her knees as she put her hands on the ground as tears fell from her eyes.

"You don't belong in this world." He said. "So, why are you even calling me your 'father'. Ethan is what you need to call me. Your real home...is in Kingdom Hearts. In Scala Ad Caelum. Like it or not...you will be in that place for all eternity. Alone. With no one weighing you down. Kingdom Hearts...is where you need to be."

Emileigh let out soft sobs, but she still continued to listen what he had to say.

"If you don't return to Kingdom Hearts soon...the worlds will fall apart. Chaos will rein upon the worlds, and your so called 'friends' will be left to rot while you leave them."

"LEAVE MY FRIENDS OUT OF THIS!!" She cried as she pounded her fists on the ground.

"You can't escape your fate...Eraqus." Emileigh looked up at Ethan.

"W-What...?" She tried to stand, but she fell to her knees as she started to become lightheaded. Ethan only glared at her as he disappeared in darkness.

Emileigh grit her teeth, and she screamed as loud as she could as she fell to the ground. The last thing she heard was the echo of her scream as her entire vision went black.
