Destined Hearts

Chapter 21: Wake Up

Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Fate were all in the living room back in Ashira as Sora held the backpack in his lap. Sora and Riku were both sitting on the couch beside each other as Kairi was sitting on one of the chairs, and Fate was sitting in the one across from her.

"Are you sure this will have everything we need?" Fate asked skeptically as he had his arms crossed.

"My parents never lie about anything that's important." Sora answered as he zipped the backpack open, and he took out the other six books, and placed them down in front of the table. He then noticed a few papers were in the bag as well, but he decided not to bring them out...yet.

"Since you read the first one, I think we should start with the second one." Kairi said. Sora then picked up the book, and he looked at the title, before opening the book. He looked over the first page, and he gasped.

"This shows the names of the old Destined Hearts!" Sora exclaimed. Fate had a shocked look on his face, as Riku and Kairi had a surprised look on their faces.

"Then don't just sit there, read it!" Fate exclaimed. Sora looked down at the book, but he closed his eyes.

"I.." His hands began to shiver a little, until he closed the book. "I can't.."

"Why not?" Kairi asked.

"Because Emileigh and the others need to know about this too." He said. "We can't keep this to ourselves when it also involves them."

"Yeah, I see your point." Riku agreed. "But what about-" He became interrupted as everyone heard Fate's phone ring. Fate took it out of his pocket, and he answered it.

"Yeah?" He started to have a conversation with the person. "Yeah, we're all okay, why?" "...What?" Sora, Riku, and Kairi started to get concerned, considering the fact Fate's voice sounded concerned. "Where are you?!" "The Alleyway?" "A-Alright, just stay put!" He ended the call and put his phone back in his pocket as he stood up.

"What's wrong?" Kairi asked.

"It's Emileigh." He replied. "Apparently, Demon Tide attacked them...and now, Takeo's not doing so well."

"What do you mean?" Sora asked.

"Emileigh told me that he fell asleep during the trip back. But now...he's not waking up." He said.

"Then we have to go after them!" Sora exclaimed.

"Actually Sora, I want you and Kairi to stay here." Fate said.

"What?! Why?" He asked.

"Emileigh said she doesn't need all four of us to go. She only needs two of us." He said.

"So, I guess I'm coming along." Riku stated.

"Yeah." Fate said. He turned his gaze back at Sora and Kairi. "Just keep an eye on the books, and make sure nothing happens to them."

"Okay, got it." Kairi nodded her head in acknowledgement as Sora did the same. Fate and Riku then ran out the door, leaving Sora and Kairi alone. Sora sighed as he looked down at the second book in his hands.

"I never knew your parents had these types of books." Kairi said, trying to start a conversation.

"Yeah, my parents were definitely busy." Sora laughed nervously.

"...Sora?"

"Hm?"

"...I was the first to make it to where you were passed out, and...you weren't passed out when I saw you."

"What do you mean...?"
