Chapter 24: Suspence

"Why are there so many of them?!" Emileigh yelled as she slided a Neoshadow Heartless with Missing Ache. Burn, Kairi and Sekara were all fighting a group of Heartless. Emileigh, however, was mostly lost in her thoughts during the fight.

What would happen next? If she won, what are the chances the person attacking them won't attack Ashira again? And if they lose...what then?

Emileigh didn't notice a Neoshadow Heartless was about to attack her, but Burn sliced it with his keyblade. He stood in front of Emileigh as she looked up at him.

"We'll win, Sis." He said, as if he read her thoughts. "Just hang onto hope."

Emileigh nodded her head as she smiled determinedly as she gripped Missing Ache tighter in her hands.

"Right!" She said as she went towards a group of Heartless and sliced them all in a single strike. They were frozen for a moment, until they all disappeared. Sekara yelled as she finished off a heartless as Kairi finished the one that was about to attack her.

"How could there be so many?" She asked as she put her hand on her chest.

"It must be the person controlling them." Burn said. "They have to have a lot of darkness in themeselves to keep the number up."

"I just hope Sora and the others are okay.." Kairi said worriely as she looked away. Burn put his hand on her back for comfort.

"We'll all live through this. I know we will!" Emileigh said determinedly. "Sure, there may be a lot of Heartless right now. But I would fight every single one of them just to keep Ashira safe."

'She definitely reminds me of Sora.' Kairi smiled to herself. All of a sudden, they heard a loud boom coming towards the outskirts of the town.

"That can't be good!" Sekara said worriely.

"C'mon!" Burn said as he and everyone else followed him. Emileigh dropped as she took one last look at where she and the others were staying, and she sighed as she followed the others.

Sora grunted in pain as he fell to the ground and he was slightly breathing heavily. He looked up, and he saw different kinds of Heartless everywhere. Wyverns, Defenders, Fat Bodies, they were everywhere you looked. Sora grunted as he tried to sit up, but he fell to his knees as he put his hand on his chest. He gasped as a Wyvern was about to fly at him, but a keyblade sliced through it as it disappeared. When Sora looked up at the owner of the keyblade, he saw it was Riku who saved him. He gestured his hand out to him, and Sora smiled as he accepted it and stood up. Fate kicked a Neoshadow Heartless as he put his hand on his chest.

"I'm getting too old for this.." He muttered to himself.

"I don't know how long we'll be able to keep this up." Riku said. "I've never seen this much Heartless come by before."

"Maybe if we beat the person bringing them here, maybe they'll go away?" Sora guessed.

"Even if we did know who the person was, where would they be?" Riku asked.

"I know who the person is." Everyone turned around, and they saw Mayonaka and Kurayami walking towards them.

"How do you know who they are...?" Riku asked suspiciously.

"..." Mayonaka stayed silent, but Kurayami put her hand on her shoulder.

"That is a question Mayonaka is uncomfortable to answer." She said. "She will reveal the answer in time, but only until she is ready."
