Chapter 14: An Unbareable Past

Kuro was sitting in his room, reading one of the Organization XII books he got from the library as he was looking through the pages. He was mostly curious about Vanitas' history. His past. Of course, it shouldn't be none of his business. But since Vanitas doesn't remember who or what happened to him, then what would be the point of asking, when he could just find the past himself.

When he turned another page, his eyes widened a little as a small smirk appeared on his face, staring at this one entry on the page.

"The Masked Boy."

"'The Masked Boy'. I wonder.." He turned the page, and a smirk appeared on his face, seeing bits of information about him.

"A mysterious boy who has ties to Xehanort." Kuro read to himself. "The darkness created from Ventus' heart."

"Interesting.." He said to himself amused as he turned the page. The next paragraph really got his interested.

"'At first, Vanitas was born as a Heartless, only he had red eyes instead of yellow. The first thing he feels is sadness about his separation from Ventus. However, that sadness then turned into hate and contempt for what he calls his weakness, which inevitably turns into self-hatred'."

Kuro turned to the next page, and continued reading.

"Vanitas soon became aware of his existence, and he began to wonder to himself, why he was born, and every time he feels an emotion, an Unversed would be born.

Vanitas becoming irritated, he immediately destroyed it with his keyblade. But every time he destroys an Unversed, he could feel physical pain in his body. And after that Unversed is destroyed, their pain and negativity flows back into his mind, which caused more irritation, and more Unversed to be created."

Kuro did want to read more, but he's already collected enough information.

"So, Vanitas doesn't remember who he is, huh?" He asked to himself. "Well, maybe it wouldn't hurt to turn the tables a bit. After all...he's now in a completely different world with Mayonaka and her...acquaintances."

Kuro put the book in a small backpack and he opened a Corridor of Darkness as he walked through it, and disappeared.

But little did he know, was another figure heard everything he said, and he sighed as he walked away.

"So, You ten are the new chosen guardians of the Destined Hearts?" Fate asked them, trying to put the pieces all together. Mayonaka and Sekara were mostly the ones doing the explanations, but Emileigh managed to jump into the conversation once in a while.

"Apparently so." Mayonaka answered. "And things have been getting...complicated. More Heartless are appearing, Sora's power awakening, everything is getting harder and harder by the second."

"At least, this is the second time it showed." Sora said. "The third time it happens, I'll be able to control my power."

"That's good to hear." Fate said. "But shocking how your anger can effect it."
