Chapter 18: Hidden Heritages

"I wonder what Fate wants to are us for."

"Who knows? But it has to be important since he called all three of us."

"I hope everything's okay."

Sora, Riku, and Kairi were all walking down the hallways towards the stairway, down to the main room. The trio wondered why he called them in the main room, and not somewhere private to talk.

Regardless, they made it down the stairway, and they saw Fate standing in the middle of the room, looking down at the floor.

"Uh...you wanted to see us, Fate?" Kairi asked a little concerned as that dragged him out of his thoughts as he looked up at the trio.

"Yeah, come here. I need to talk to you." The trio all walked down the stairs, until they stood in front of him.

"What's going on?" Riku asked.

"...You all come from another world, right?" Fate asked and the three nodded their heads. "Tell me; how did you meet Emileigh and her friends?"

"Emileigh was the first we met." Sora said. "As for Kurayami, Yami, and Burn, they...told us things."

"I don't care what they told you." Fate said. "Just tell me exactly how you met her."

Sora, Riku, and Kairi all looked at each other for a moment, until they looked at Fate.

"Well...to be honest, Fate, we don't know how it happened. We don't know how she appeared." Riku said. "Sora told her that she was breathing heavily when we found her. But that was a lie." Fate started to become curious, yet a little tense about what they were going to say.

"It looked like Emileigh was...dead." Kairi said nervously. "When we were bringing her into the tower, she was...crying." Sora took a step forward as he had a concerned, yet sympathetic look on his face. Riku and Kairi also became confused by this sudden action.

"...Here's how it really happened.."

Sora was sitting on the bed of the room Master Yen Sid let him stay in the tower. He had a small book in his hands as he was looking at the cover of it. It had multiple different kinds of keyblade circling one sigil in the middle. The wording on the book was written in a different language, yet Sora knew exactly what it said.

"...'Destined Hearts'." He whispered to himself. "It looks interesting. But why do I know the language of what's in here?"

Before Sora could open the first page, he heard the door to his room open. Sora quickly hid the book under the pillow as he sat up straight.

"Finally awake, huh?" Sora looked up at the person, and he saw Riku step into the room.

"Hehe...you know me, I'm always the lazy bum out of the three of us." Sora smiled as Riku stood over him.

"And by knowing you, you won't stop anytime soon." Riku said as Sora playfully shoved him and laughed.

"Hey you two." The two looked at the doorway, and they saw a girl walk into the room.

"Hey Kairi." Sora greeted as he put his feet down on the floor.

"Slept in again?" Kairi smiled a little.
