"We were all rejects, no one cared about them and we weren't shit to anyone."

Rainn's P.O.V.
(May 12, 1953)

I woke up to someone walking down the hallway towards me. I didn't move a muscle. Who is that? My mom is never home in the morning? I heard them yawn then open the ice box. I opened my eyes, first confused as to where I am, but then last night flooded into my mind. Oh right the Curtis'. I sat up streching. "Look who's awake." I opened my eyes and saw Sodapop standing infront of me drinking a glass of orange juice. He wore jeans, a white tank-top and his DX shirt. "Where is everyone?" "Darry is at work. Pony, Johnny, and Two are at school, and Steve is at the DX, I said I was going to come in later because I didn't want you to wake up confused." I smiled, "Thank you."

"What time is it?" He looked at the clock in the kitchen, "Around 8." I nodded. "Well, I'ma get going, if you need anything just come down to the DX." I nodded, "I'll be here." He walked out the door. I looked around and I got up. I folded the blanket putting in the arm rest of the couch. Since I'm here, I might as well clean up a little bit.

---- 4pm ---

I sighed as I sat down. I didn't know I was going to be cleaning for that long. I sat listening to Johnny Cash in the background. I didn't want to watch T.V. knowing that when the guys get here it will be on. Ponyboy, Johnny, and Two should be home any minute, meaning I should change and redo my hair. I slowly got up walking outside to my car. I pushed my hair out of my way as I open the door to the back. I reached in getting what I wanted and going back inside, changed, then walked out. The door open and I heard voices. I walked out, "Oh hey Rainn." Pony said walking to the kitchen table. "Hey Pony." Johnny walked in, "Hey Rainn, how was your day?" I grinned, "Boring." He laughed sitting across him.

Soon the rest of the gang was here minus Two. I looked at the clock. Darry was already started on dinner, and everyone was sitting around talking about their day. "Rainn." Someone spoke. I stopped my gaze and looked at them, "What?" "Did you hear me?" I looked at Soda, "No sorry, what?" "Are you racing Friday?" I shrugged, "Don't know. I need the money, so I might. Why?" He shrugged, "Just asking."

"Oh come on. You want to race with her since you can't anymore." Steve bluffed. Soda glared at him, "Shut up Steve." He smirked. "I knew it." "Butttt....Can I Rainn?" I look at Soda, "Boy, I don't even know if I'm racing." I said laughing. He grinned looking down. "Me and Johnny are going to the library to get something's for our test, I won't be back for dinner so save us some." They walked out with their stuff in their hands, then Two-bit walked in, sitting down next to me.

"So Rainn?"
"So Two?" I said back.
He smiled, "How do you like Tulsa so far?"
"I haven't got to see a lot of it. So I don't know how I feel about it." I got up getting a glass of water, and walked back.
"How about tomorrow we go and look around? I'll show you everywhere to do and not." Two-bit smiles drinking his beer.
"What do you mean, not to be?" I finished off the glass.
"Where the socs are." Steve joined in.
"What are socs?" Putting my glass in the sink.
He looked at me like I killed someone.
"Do you really not know what a socs is?" I nodded.
"They are the bitchy high class people that think that they are all that because they have a lot of money. Mustang and madras. And what do they do for fun!?" Steve yelled.
"They bet up greasers!" They all yell.
"Who are greasers?" I sat back down in my seat.
"That would be us, doll." Dally said drinking his beer.
"Cheers to that." Two held up his beer.

I laughed, I look at the boys in front of me. They all start explaining what they are in society. I listen to all they nasty words they say about them, and what they say about them. I was always on the east side, middle class and didn't have to worry about all of this. I then look at Sodapop, he looked down at his hands, and to be honest, he looked like he was about to cry. I looked away trying not to make it look obvious that I was looking at him.

"Dinners ready." Darry said from the kitchen. The gang got up walking to the kitchen getting food and things, again I stayed back and watch it all happened.

"Rainn, you told us your story, maybe we should tell you ours." Darry said getting a glass. I look over at him. "You came out and told us everything about you and what happened to you, now it's our turn." I got up sitting down where Pony sits. "A little less a year ago, my parents died from an auto wreck." "My dad left me, my sister' and mom." Two added in. "My dad don't give a hang it I'm in jail or dead in a car wreck." Dally laughed. "Johnny's parents abuse him." Steve said. I look at all of them, "Damn."

I don't even know what to say. We were all rejects, no one cared about them and we weren't shit to anyone. We have messed up lives, and to say the least, I don't think I want to leave them.

"What if I stayed? And bought a house?" I came out and said. I wasn't thinking when I talked, I just talked. I saw Steve smile at me.

"What if?" I smiled looking at them, "What if?"
