It had been a stressful few weeks for all the girls in attendance at Miss Robichaux's Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies but they relieved their stress by using their powers to entertain themselves and mess with one another. On this certain day, Madison Montgomery and Zoe Benson sat on the couch, hand in hand, watching their fellow witches' childish behavior with looks of curiosity on Madison's end and annoyance and distaste on Zoe's.

"C'mon Zo, we have a right to fun just like everyone else in this shithole does so why are we sitting around like lumps on a log hm? We have powers no one else in the world does, let's waste them on stupid shit that makes us nostalgic." She pulled her persistent girlfriend off of the couch and cupped her cheeks, staring straight into her hazel eyes. She moved forward as if she were going to kiss her, and Zoe shivered in anticipation as she felt her lips become closer and closer to her own but when she didn't feel pressure on her lips, she opened her eyes and saw her across the room, a shit eating grin on her face.

"If you wanna kiss me, you gotta catch me first." She giggled before using the power of transmutation to another part of the house. She groaned but decided to give into her girlfriends childish antics to please her. She transported herself to their bedroom and to her displeasure, she isn't waiting there for her. She rolled her eyes and teleported herself to the kitchen, knowing for certain that she would be waiting there for her, but again, she was nowhere in sight.

"You're not funny Madison!" She yelled out, loud enough that hopefully the blonde would be able to hear. If she had heard her, she made no move to acknowledge that she did, and that irked the brunette more than she could express. She should be fully focused on working towards becoming the next supreme, but here she was, losing her concentration on what she had been trying for since she had discovered that she was a witch. She transports herself outside on the lower ground but she doesn't see the blonde anywhere so as a last ditch effort, she tries to transport herself higher so she can have more of an advantage against her but she loses focus for a mere moment and the next thing she felt was pain, unspeakable pain. She struggled to look down at her stomach and she was shocked to see that the spikes on the top of the entrance to the academy had made home in her stomach.

"ZOE" She heard Madison scream and the last thing she saw before she succumbed to the darkness pulling her in was the tear streaked face of her lover.

"No no no no." Madison repeated over and over again as the other witches helped Cordelia get Zoe off of the fence. When they had successfully gotten her down, she gathered the lifeless body of her girlfriend and sank to the grass roughly. She laid her head on the material of her dress and brushed her hair away from her face, trying to recover any signs of life from the brunette lying still on her lap.

"C'mon Zoe, you can't do this to me, you can't. I need you, come on baby wake up, please please wake up." She choked out as her head collapsed heavily on her chest, staining the material of Zoe's sweater with her tears. She had somehow gotten a hold on her hand and she squeezed as tightly as she could, hoping that would bring her back to this world, back to her. She felt a hand softly land on her shoulder and she flinched away, tightening her grip on the younger witch's still warm body, afraid that they would try to separate them from one another, and that's the last thing she could handle right now.

"Madison honey, we have to get her somewhere we can help her. We have to take her to the greenhouse where one of us can try to bring her back. But I need your help, can you help me?" She didn't speak but she felt herself nod as she rose to her feet, rearranging her girlfriend in her arms to where she could comfortably carry her into the greenhouse. She didn't trust anyone else to touch her precious Zoe, not even Cordelia, who gave her a look of pity when she passed by her. Her knees were shaking and she felt as if her whole entire body would give out at any moment, but she pushed on for the girl she held cradled to her chest, who felt too limp in her arms. When she finally got into the greenhouse, she ignored the looks of everyone but the kind hearted blonde woman in front of her, who held her arms out. She shook her head quickly, and opted on being the one who placed her on the table, stroking her medium length brown hair and keeping a firm grasp on her hand. She imagined that she felt a light squeeze on her hand but everytime she would look down, Zoe was still gone, every. fucking. time. Cordelia summoned Queenie up to the table, who attempted to perform Vitalum Vitalis to revive her, but with a saddened look, she stepped away from the table in defeat, unable to complete the task at hand.

"Madison, you're the only other person I know who can do this, you have to try." She looked across the table at the older witch, who looked completely heartbroken that this was happening right now. She couldn't focus on anything but the fact that the love of her life had just fucking died and that it was all her fault, she couldn't even fathom a life without the doe eyed brunette, who kept her sane through everything that she had experienced. She didn't want to live without her, she simply couldn't. She couldn't do this journey without her and yet, she was so fucked up to the point she couldn't even use the power she had to bring her back to life, back into her waiting arms.

"I-I can't, I-" She struggled to form words and before she knew it, her airway was closing up and she was on the floor of the greenhouse, being turned onto her side to allow her to breathe. It felt like her head was being held underwater and she couldn't suck air into her lungs, it felt as if she was truly dying and with the events that had occurred today, she wanted nothing more than to revisit that darkness she had familiarized herself with. Just as soon as it began however, it was over, and she could breathe again. She felt hands being placed on either side of her face and she locked eyes with Cordelia, who breathed a sigh of relief as she helped her to sit back up.

"Thank Heavens, we thought that we had lost you too." She looked around the room and nothing had changed to her complete disappointment. She rose to her feet with the aide of the watchful woman lingering next to her and she rubbed at her temples where a headache had decided to fucking make a temporary home in. She groaned and rubbed at them furiously, trying to get the voices out of her head so she could bring the girl she loved back, the girl she knew made her want to be alive and change her attitude, which is what she vowed to do as she cleared all thoughts from her head and focused solely on the body laying on the table, muttering words under her breath over and over again until a loud bolt of thunder hit the side of the greenhouse and Zoe gasped as she jolted up on the tabletop, immediately grabbing hold of her throat to force herself to breathe air into her lungs.

"You owe me that kiss now" She asked shakily, her words raspy and soft. The blonde let out a high pitched laugh as tears filled her eyes and she flung herself at the brunette who was waiting for her with open and expectant arms. They embraced for a long time and when they finally pulled apart, they kept a firm grip on each others hands, not taking their eyes off of one another. Both girls were relieved to have each other back and they knew that there would be repercussions of Madison's actions but at the moment, neither of them cared about that or what would come later on, all they cared about was each other, just as they always had.
