Zoe Benson and Madison Montgomery were fresh out of high school, and all possibilities were endless for the young couple, who had been together for as long as either of them could remember. They had been planning a road trip to see the Northern Lights since they were 12 years old, and now that they were both 18 and free from the constraints school kept them trapped in, they were free to do so. Of course, there were doubts planted in both girls minds, but they knew the fun they would have together would outweigh any negativity they had, which is why they were doing it now rather than waiting. The pair were currently at Zoe's parents house, cramming box after box into her Jeep Cherokee without fail, when the blonde looked over at her bubbly girlfriend and noticed her shoelace was untied. Without a word, she bent down at the knee next to where she was standing and laced her shoe up, not wanting her to somehow injure herself before their big trip. She smiled down at her and gave her a questioning glance, but she was ignored as the shorter girl turned back to tidying up the backseat, trying to find a decent amount of space to store the essentials her and the brunette would need, such as boxes of snacks and bottled water among other things.

"I think that's everything." Zoe announced, clapping her hands together and reaching up to push a piece of hair from her eyes that had fallen while she was busy finishing up the previous task she had been stuck with. Madison looked at her with a small smirk and hopped down from her place on the hood of the jeep, brushing off the back of her shorts as she joined her in her goodbyes to her parents. The Bensons were obviously upset that their daughter would be gone for as long as she had planned to be, but they knew she was responsible and that as long as the blonde was by her side, that she was going to be okay. Once they had gotten past that hard stage, the two girls climbed into the car and buckled up, ready for the adventure of a lifetime and for memories that would stay with them for as long as they were together, and even after that.

A/N: Don't fret, because this isn't the last part of this! I'm probably going to write a few parts to this, because I honestly love the concept. The point of this one shot though is to use the prompt about tying the shoelace of someone you love rather than wait for them to notice it, which is honestly so adorable. Anyways, I'm also writing this because I really want to see the Northern Lights someday, because I think it would be a magical and unforgettable experience. Please vote and comment as feedback is so important to me plus it's a huge motivator as well. Hope you all are taking care of yourselves, and that you're happy x.

(Also sorry for this being so short, but I didn't know what else to write sksksk)
